Seem to be going round in circles trying to fine a name for baby due in 10 short weeks

would be interested to get peoples impressions of these name combinations.

Claudia Violet
Sophie Alice
Felicity Kate
Clementine .... Something! ( very new to the list!)

Surname begins with P and has 2 syllables.

Magaly, in that case maybe not appropriate!!

DH vetoed Clementine so it's off the list

Claudia Violet - too many syllables
Sophie Alice - lovely, classic
Felicity Kate - love this!
Clementine - needs a one syllable middle name IMO

liliputlady · 30/03/2010 17:12

Sophie Alice is my favourite and would go really well with Isobel/Bella.
Violet very pretty too... Sophie Violet?

Magaly · 30/03/2010 17:02

Claudia is the nicest by far. I can't really think of characterisations for each!! I wouldn't expect them to be anything really. Well, Clementine's mUm might be a bit intimidating.

VermontMama · 30/03/2010 13:43

Which month will the little one be born? If a single syllable, the month might make a nice middle name. I like them all... Thinking of this esp. for the name Clementine.

MarianneD · 30/03/2010 13:27

Love Claudia Violet but they're all nice

Prinpo · 29/03/2010 13:21

Love Claudia, Felicity and Clementine (Clementine is on my list, just not sure whether I'd have the guts to use it!). Not so sure about the mixture of middle names, though. Claudia Violet a bit of a mouthful?

Sophie Alice I don't like. Nice names but so overused that they've lost their appeal for me.

Clementine Rose? Agree that Rose is a popular middle name but they do sound lovely together.

Lousymumdotcom · 29/03/2010 13:03

I like Claudia, Sophie and Clementine. Do you need the middle name? It's worth applying the Tesco test to any of these names. In other words - how would it sound if you shouted: "Claudia, get 'ere!" It's better than Chardonnay, or Shiraz, or Casper, for a boy. And, can you ever see your little darling being: Judge Sophie xxx or Judge Clementine? Just a thought....

gillybeanie · 29/03/2010 12:22

i don't think it is used that much don't know any Roses, think it is a lovely name goes well with Claudia and if it was one of your first thoughts could be the one

Tobermory · 29/03/2010 12:02

I like Claudia Rose, it was our first thought but wonder if Rose is a bit over-used as a mn at the moment.

notsochickchickchicken · 29/03/2010 11:54

I think Felicity Kate sound the best together.

Not keen on Claudia bit love Violet.

Sophie Alice is nice but a bit boring, I really like the name Sophie though.

Clementine not sure really, it's a name I quite like the sound of but would never use.

gillybeanie · 29/03/2010 11:46

i have a Sophia Alice, how about Claudia Rose

Tobermory · 29/03/2010 11:28

Too many syllables in Felicity KAthryn I think, plus I much prefer Kate.

Mrsjohndeere, I love Violet but DH doesnt . Suggest me an alternatiive to go with Claudia?

OP posts:
MrsJohnDeere · 29/03/2010 11:22

Like Felicity Kate best on that list.

I love the names Claudia and Violet, but I don't think they sound right together.

5DollarShake · 29/03/2010 11:16

Meant to say 'beautifully'.

5DollarShake · 29/03/2010 11:15

Felicity Kate rolls off the tongue beautiful.

Sophie and Alice are ubiquitous - does the world really need more of either?

LouMacca · 29/03/2010 11:12

I have a Sophie Alice so of course I love it!

Sorry don't like Clementine or Claudia. Felicity Kate is pretty.

Bucharest · 29/03/2010 11:03

Clementine is lovely....Felicity a bit frilly for me, Claudia is OK, but always sounds a bit grown up to me, Sophie I find meh as there are just so many of them.

Bumperlicious · 29/03/2010 10:57

Claudia is lovely, think it is on my list. Not so sure about Violet.

Sophie is a bit blah (but it's my sis's name so have grown up with it). Felicity is nice, but Kate is odd for a middle name, would go for Kathryn instead. Clementine is on my list too and I can't decide if I like enough or not.

CirrhosisByTheSea · 29/03/2010 10:17

Sophie Alice is beautiful.

I love Alice as a first name as well though. Alice and Isobel go so well together!!

Tobermory · 29/03/2010 09:41

Mamalazarou, Kate has been a favourite mn for a while btu dont think it 'sits' so well with some of the first names. Or maybe Im just over-thinking it!

secondcoming - I've loved Violet for ages but do know what you mean about popularity.
clara is pretty but too close to DH's ex and Id rather not be reminded of her on a daily basis!

They are all lovely names. It's interesting that you've got a different middle name for each forename.

MinnieMalone · 29/03/2010 07:52

I'd try not to concentrate on middle names. They are only used on forms, so think more about the first name and how it sounds to your ear.

I really like Felicity. It's unusual without being weird. Lots of nickname possibilities, too.

Claudia is OK, quite cold and Germanic sounding to my ear.

Sophie is sweet but quite popular.

Not a fan of Clementine at all. Clem/Clemmie = awful.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 29/03/2010 07:48

Felicity Kate has a nice rhythm to it. But I like all of them too, you can't really go wrong.
