Oh, those boys are so cute! I think Oakley and Lucas is lovely.

As a side note, I like it when DC have one easy name and one slightly more unusual one. Means they can pick whichever they prefer when they are older.

pigletmania · 27/03/2010 23:31

Not keen on any of them, but Noah is the best and Oakley is the worse (think Oakley sunglasses)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/03/2010 21:53

Oakley to me is skiing sunglasses

Meglet · 27/03/2010 21:49

I love Noah, but not as keen on Oakley or Finley.

gmtbst · 27/03/2010 21:46

I don't mind it, prefer it to Finley.

LynetteScavo · 27/03/2010 20:02

I'm probalby the only Mumsnetter who likes Oakley!

Both names are lovely.

Oakley couls be shortened to Oak...which would be just too cool, IMO.

eatyourveg · 27/03/2010 19:53

Noah is great as is Fin or even Ffin? There is a ffinlo in ds2's class apparently a manx name. definitely not Oakley. In my neck of the woods its the name of a local school!

mathanxiety · 27/03/2010 17:05

Finley Noah. Oakley is really horrible, imo. Would your DD consider Dara, or Daragh, Irish for Oak?

sassysass · 27/03/2010 17:03

Finlay is great, especially shortened to Fin.

Oakley is a designer brand, like Gucci.

ilovesprouts · 27/03/2010 15:01

we have already had the quips about suglasses/skiwear

SaintGeoff · 27/03/2010 14:54

Finn (Finlay/Finegan/Fintan/Finbar and on and on and on and on and on...) and Noah are so ubiquitous they've started to cancel each other out.

Oakley make sunglasses.

jellybeans · 27/03/2010 14:53

Finley Noah is my fave, even though it's very popular. Oakley is OK but abit too different. Lucas Matthew is lovely.

ilovesprouts · 27/03/2010 14:27

i love both of them ,yes my dd knows ive posted on here thats the 2 names she likes so i guess its one of them also my sons gf are having a boy 9th may they are calling him lucas matthew ,

Congrats, Granny sprouts! What do you think of your DD's choices? Have you told her?

othersideofchannel · 27/03/2010 12:45

I don't like either, I'm afraid.

There are so, so many Finns around (all the Finlays, Finleys, Finnians etc) that I'd avoid it on that reason alone.

Oakley is a little more original, so if I had to choose one, this would be it.

MarianneD · 27/03/2010 12:38

Noah extremely popular at the moment. Also know a few baby "Finlay's". Oakley makes me think of shades or skiing gear or something.
