I dislike Verity. It sounds witchy. Annabel is a name for a princess. So Constance gets my vote!

I really reeeally dislike Constance! Can I have a constanent please Carol! Connie is cute, but not at the expense of a horrible first name.

Annabel is nice or Annabelle this is on my list, nn's Annie, Anna, Ann, Belle.

Verity i also really like, think its cute and full of character. nn's Verry? V, Rita

oooh so unfair re constance. I think of constance as studious, fair minded, sensible in a good way.

Verity and Felicity though similar I just don't like at all.

LOL@ Quattrocento's Verity description! Admittedly my Verity is only 22mnths - but she's teeny, fat-legged with curly hair and a fabulous hard-core scowl!

Annabel is rather average compared to the other two. Have you thought about Joy?

Constance is overweight, uses talcum powder and has permed hair. She is a pillar of the WI, as you might expect, given the formidable strength of her corsets magic pants.

Verity is tall and willowy, with long hair and a permanently apologetic expression.

Annabel plays tennis with her friend Araminta. Her backhand is fierce and the men at the tennis club ogle her discreetly.

Funny you should say that helenwombat, the younger Verity (about 7 y.o.) I know always reminds me of a human Mrs Tiggywinkle.

Felicity popped into my head tother day actually.

Really like Verity but am not sure what the shortenings are? Apart from 'V'? Neither can I think of a middle name to go with it apart from Rose- which I really love - but is THE middle name isn't it? Would like Rose as the first name too but it seems to bleed into our surname which starts with S.

I adore Connie and DH says to just call her Connie full stop but I think she should have a proper full first name IYSWIM? Constance is nice but is it too old fashioned?

Would spell Annabel like that, not with Belle as I don't like it that way. Am thinking it's a bit plain as time goes on....?

Noooo Vermont! DH's objection to Verity was that it reminded him of Felicity and he really hates that name

Adore Verity. DH vetoed it for DD but I'm subliminally working on him for a possible DD2. Not keen on Constance but like Connie so would consider Constance to get that. Annabel is nice as long as it's spelled like that. With the 'belle' on the end it starts to look prissy even though the sound is the same.

My vote is for Annabelle, and if I may add one that reminds me of the style of the other two: Felicity. I love that name!

I don't like verity but annabel and constance are top of my list if we ever have daughters. I live connie/nan/nancy and also annie/bella. Good choices! Hope they don't get too popular though. X

I love them all (although I tend to prefer Annabelle to Annabel), but Verity is my favourite. I know two: one a couple of years younger than me and a 7 year-old. They are both total sweethearts. I think it is very pretty.
