I think boil too, sorry. Or Lance Armstrong, who is a bit of a git.

Hullygully · 24/03/2010 18:46

Lance is both classic and timeless and suggests litheness and grace.

AllieW · 24/03/2010 18:45

Not so keen - I instantly thought of Home and Away too. However, I could be persuaded by Lancelot (I had an ex-colleague by that name). After all if Arthur is making a comeback, I don't see why not.....

Lance - prance. Not good.

doubleexpresso · 23/03/2010 18:18

Ooh! Quite like it. Lance Armstrong, v muscular

Bucharest · 23/03/2010 18:16

My grandad's brother was Uncle Lance (short for Lancelot, except they pn'd it Lans-lut apparently)

It's a bit Vince, isn't it? Which isn't very nice.

mathanxiety · 23/03/2010 17:23

TTH to be 'manly' is what it suggests to me. Reminds me of a Cheers episode where Sam called himself Lance Mannion to impress some conquest of his.

shushpenfold · 23/03/2010 17:02

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

CaptainPicardsPineapple · 23/03/2010 16:52

A boil? Painful.

pimskie · 23/03/2010 15:15

Love it. But then again I might be biased as it's my son's middle name.

ActuallyMyNamesMarina · 23/03/2010 14:55

It's what you do to a boil. It's a god awful name - but I am biased as I was at school with an annoying Lance (the Prance) friend of Aubery the Strawberry. Yes............ we were puerile

MamaLazarou · 23/03/2010 14:46

I like it: it makes a nice change from the ever-expanding sea of Jacks, Joshuas and Jameses.

castille · 23/03/2010 14:24

I know a baby Lancelot.

He's terribly sweet with a terrible name!

weepootle · 23/03/2010 14:19

Probably the worst boys name ever.

JoeyBettany · 23/03/2010 14:13

sounds like a euphemism for a penis

dizzydixies · 23/03/2010 13:34

no no no no no

Next!

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 23/03/2010 13:29

Loved it - for my cat!

Maggie00 · 23/03/2010 13:25

Lance is not great. I prefer Saul which is kind of but not quite Lance backwards, and just sounds nicer and less awful.

Meanbeansmum · 23/03/2010 08:02

When I hear the name Lance and I think australian farmer...I don't know why lol.

Tortington · 23/03/2010 00:16

i know a Lance, he's a twat. so that clouds my feelings on the subject

Clary · 23/03/2010 00:14

I was at school with a Lance, to this day the only one I have ever known or even heard of.

Lance Pulling was his full name. Sounds like something a trainee medieval knight might get up to

SpringHeeledJack · 22/03/2010 22:34

Do you remember Len and Lance, the builders Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse used to do?

i'd avoid, meself

Reminds me of Lance Armstrong.

So, a 'no' from me.

yama · 22/03/2010 21:44

I did a lot of double denim in my yoof.
