Mulling over Claudia for DC2 and wondering about middle names. Like Rose but wonder if its a bit standard as a middle name as was Louise when i was a child.

So Claudia Kate/Cate.... too alliterative or do you like it?

Claudia is a fabulous name IMO

great name for a baby as well as an adult

I like Claudia Cate - think it sounds very pretty

sweetkitty · 25/03/2010 10:52

I really like Claudia would have been on our shortlist if this one had been a girl.

I think a shorter middle name not beginning or ending in -a would be nicest.

Claudia Erin
Claudia Grace
Claudia Rose
Claudia Mae
Claudia Jane
Claudia Eve

sparkly I like Alice, pretty name but wonder about the two names running together as Claudia ends with an 'a' and Alice begins with one.
Is it hard to hear the distinction betsween the two or dows it become Claudiaalice IFSWIM?

becca congrats on your new baby girl and lovely name.

i really liked kate for dd2 middle name, but she ended up being claudia josephine, she is 4 weeks old and really suits it! dd1 and ds call her claudie and we have had lots of nice comments too

Claudia Marie/Mary
Claudia Alice
Claudia Abigail
Claudia Ellen

any of those any good?

Tobermory · 24/03/2010 23:01

Just talking about this again with DH and I think I'm going off the two together.

So suggestions- what does sound nice with Claudia?

Love the names Claudia and Kate but not the two together

CinderellaRach · 17/03/2010 15:48

Claudia Cate is lovely but doesn't sound 'complete' enough to me.
Claudia Rose sounds so beautiful, classic and timeless.

5DollarShake · 17/03/2010 14:48

Either, or - I love Kate and Cate.

Kate is the only K name that I even like, and think it is a lovely, simple, pretty name. Cate is fabulous too, as much prefer Catherine to Katherine (which ties in with my non-liking of K names) - although I know you're not looking for the longer version.

Definitely a preferable choice to Rose which along with May/Mae is exactly what you say - this gen's answer to Louise as a mn.

Claudia C/Kate sounds lovely.

Tobermory · 17/03/2010 13:29

Cause neither you nor your your DD is a Cate ?

Ruslara · 17/03/2010 13:26

No No No, it must be a "Cate" - just to really seal the alliteration, you understand, no other motive!
PS Love the Claudia bit too!

MrsJohnDeere · 17/03/2010 13:19

lovely name (prefer Kate to Cate myself)

Tobermory · 17/03/2010 13:19

Ruslara, I'm guessing you're just a bit biased?!!

The meaning of the name isn't hugely important to us. I do know what you mean and was a teeny bit disappointed when I found out but am more interested in a name that we love and Claudia is turning into a grower.

LOVE it! There's nowhere near enough Cates in this world if you ask me!!

annasophia · 17/03/2010 13:16

I don't like the meaning of Claudia. Shame, as it is a nice name.
