I know both are boring, but which do you hear more?

dd is Georgia.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

lizzyb - I'm in London.

Thomas is a much nicer name imho.

And every second child is a Jack or Jake round here.

ShowOfHands · 16/03/2010 15:27

I can't read the names you're asking about. There are so many of them they've cancelled each other out and created a huge vacuum where people are forced to think of Other Names.

Thomas nicer btw.

dizzydixies · 16/03/2010 15:22

classic, always has been

lizzybb · 16/03/2010 15:16

Thanks. I am based in the South East and have had a similar experience to 'jamieandhismagictorch' with Jack. Although I know it is very popular from the statistics, I rarely ever meet any through playgroups, nurseries etc. Whereas Thomas seems to be everywhere!

I agree that Tom is nicer than Thomas, but would be christened Thomas just to be 'proper'!

Do you think Jack will always be a classic or will date?

I love Jack too and there are hardly any near to us

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/03/2010 15:07

I much prefer Jack. And, though it's meant to be really popular, there is only 1 in DSs primary school, none in any of the three playgroups I've been involved with, and I only know one other.

Although I like Tom, I don't really like Thomas, as it reminds me of Tank Engines ......

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 16/03/2010 14:55

Both are about equal here, and I speak as the mother of a Jack

MamaLazarou · 16/03/2010 14:49

There are 129,333,458,598 Jacks round here.

Thomas is much nicer, too, IMO.
