Finally after weeks of mind changing and the results of my other thread, I'm down to Mary and Julia. Sister for Robert. Surname starts with B.

Mary Elizabeth

Julia Rose

But which one???

Julia

DinahRod · 14/03/2010 18:23

Julia sounds more melodic but Mary is more classic.

On balance: Julia

Julia

Julia is much nicer imo. Mary a bit staid and dull, Maria is a nicer version.

madly · 14/03/2010 17:17

Mary is a fantastic name.

5DollarShake · 14/03/2010 17:01

Mary is timeless and pretty - and she'd be very unlikely to share the name with hoards of others.

Julia is fine but a bit meh.

omaoma · 14/03/2010 14:33

er.. mary was slang for your bojango when i was at school! so personally avoid that one like the plague

Fayrazzled · 14/03/2010 14:17

I prefer Mary. Julia is nice too, but I wouldn't go for Julia with a Robert because it brings "Julia Roberts" to mind. Not that it's a terrible association if you do like Julia.

SE13Mummy · 14/03/2010 14:14

How about Mary Julia? I prefer Mary but then I rather like the old-fashioned names and think of Julia as being a 1960's/70's name.

diddl · 14/03/2010 14:03

Julia.

Mary is old fashioned imo.

bibbitybobbityhat · 14/03/2010 13:55

Oh dear, I really like them both.

I think I am leaning slightly towards Mary Eklizabeth though.

Lovely names. I love Robert too!

ThreeGuesses · 14/03/2010 13:52

Julia is very pretty. Mary is quite dull IMHO

yellowcircle · 14/03/2010 13:51

Mary.

franke · 14/03/2010 13:33

Julia

cece · 14/03/2010 13:32

I think Mary as I really dislike Julia being shortened to Jules.

belgo · 14/03/2010 13:29

Mary Elizabeth definitely.

I know plenty of Julia/Julie/Juliettes and no Marys (apart from my gran who was Mary Elizabeth)
