Tristan sounds so sad as it always reminds me of triste...

expatinscotland · 23/04/2010 08:12

Neither

Magaly · 23/04/2010 08:09

Christian. By a long shot. The only thing that puts me off it is it's a bit of a statement name. I wouldn't like to think my child was SO obviously from a Christian background. NOT a shamed of it but it certainly nails your background to a highflying mask. NOT a big deal really though.

Still Christian.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 23/04/2010 07:15

Tristan.

skidoodly · 23/04/2010 07:11

Dominic

diddl · 23/04/2010 06:35

Tristan or Tristian.

JeMeSouviens · 22/04/2010 23:40

Dislike both immensely

jemart · 22/04/2010 23:14

I really like both. Would have liked one of those names for my son but neither sits well with our surname.

padraig · 22/04/2010 23:11

Tristan.

Personally I am avoiding all overtly religios names and names which are very Biblical (i.e. names whose meaning contains or refers to a God).

debaronz · 22/04/2010 22:07

I like both but prefer Christian.

kittycat234 · 22/04/2010 22:00

I am bias because I called my little one Tristan after the same debate, I liked both Tristan and Christian but decided on Tristan because it was more unusual x

LadyCressida · 05/03/2010 23:56

Think I prefer Christian though both are nice.

I don't think people would necessarily immediately think of Christianity. No one looks at Christian Slater and thinks 'must be a religious maniac'... (I think very different thoughs )

nelly83 · 05/03/2010 23:16

Deffo Tristan but I prefer it spelt this way Trystan

chardom · 05/03/2010 22:30

Tristan was top of my list for DS and I love now even though he is 11 now! Hubby wouddn't let me use it for our DS who is Dominic instead which I like now, eventually!

PinkKumquat · 05/03/2010 21:31

I don't like either.

RHL · 05/03/2010 21:27

Shame Tristan means sadness and that Christian is so religious. Both good sounds...Krystian?

SilverSky · 03/03/2010 20:11

Both not for me......

lisa34 · 03/03/2010 20:08

Hi i wanted to call my ds christian but hubby hated it so we decided on Christopher

mathanxiety · 03/03/2010 19:45

Both meh.

foreverastudent · 03/03/2010 19:41

i like both

JeMeSouviens · 03/03/2010 18:49

I dislike both

msrisotto · 03/03/2010 18:48

I love them both. Christian has never been linked to the religion for me as i've known someone called Christian since forever, anyway, that's my favourite.

Smilehighclub · 03/03/2010 18:46

hate 'chris' btw.

zozzle · 03/03/2010 18:46

Both v nice.

But I think you can only get away with Christian if you are, in fact, practising Christians otherwise why else would you chose a name with such an obvious link.

Smilehighclub · 03/03/2010 18:45

I met a really dishy Tristan yesterday. Helpful?
