My DH & I are having trouble with the name for DD3 (due any day now). Our shortlist is:

Deborah

Suzannah
Louisa

SuSannah or Louisa for me too

pointysayhiphip · 28/02/2010 12:27

I love Maggie and I love Louisa. Don;t like the others

Elsa123 · 28/02/2010 12:17

I like them all and would also spell Susannah as an ss- but I also quite like Suzanne. I like Margaret, but don't like Maggie as a nickname- Mags is nice, margot etc. I like Deborah, esp if it was shortened to Debs and not Debbie. Louisa is nice too.

Maggie - too Simpsons
Deborah - too 70's
Susanna and any other spelling - too 70's
Louise - the best of the bunch

any other options??

yama · 28/02/2010 09:18

Love Susannah and Louisa.

Dislike Margaret. Will concede that Maggie is cool though.

Deborah I actually like but agree it belongs in the 1970s.

NormaSknockers · 28/02/2010 09:10

Maggie, I adore that name. Was one we considered for DS (prior to knowing he was a boy obviously)

diddl · 28/02/2010 09:03

Louisa.

ShirleyAmbrose · 27/02/2010 20:56

I like Susannah (also prefer 's' spelling) and Louisa best.

mathanxiety · 27/02/2010 20:24

Deborah -- Usually like OT names, but Debbie is a horrible and possibly unavoidable nn, so no. I like Devora though.
Maggie/Margaret -- prefer Pearl or Margarita
Suzannah -- Lovely, prefer with S instead of Z too (also love Shoshana)
Louisa -- Lovely

Ellokitty · 27/02/2010 20:20

I love Susannah (but with the s I'm afraid).
Also Louisa is very nice.

weepootle · 27/02/2010 20:10

I love Louisa, dd2 was almost this. The only other one I like is Susannah (only spelt like this though).

mazzystartled · 27/02/2010 20:08

I know 2 little Louisas, and 2 little Maggies

Like both very much

Deborah is ok, but Debbie ugh
Suzannah is a bit of a mouthful - I like Suzanne a la Leonard Cohen

LaDiDaDi · 27/02/2010 20:07

Suzannah, though I would spell Susannah, is my favourite of your choices.

yellowcircle · 27/02/2010 20:05

Deborah spelt Debra seems less dated to me and Deb is quite a cool nn.

I like Louisa and Suzannah, Margaret is OK but I stll have old lady connotations for that one.

daisyj · 27/02/2010 20:02

Louisa I like a lot. Not keen on the others, sorry (although I do like Daisy as nn for Margaret).

menomena · 27/02/2010 20:00

I don't like Deborah - agree it still seems dated. The others are nice. I would probably go for Louisa.

CantSupinate · 27/02/2010 19:37

I like them all, so tough call!!
I guess Deborah, if I had to choose.

bellissima · 27/02/2010 18:45

Suzannah. Then Louisa. Not sure about the others, Maybe Marguerite/Daisy.

doubleexpresso · 27/02/2010 18:38

Louisa. Would you consider Margot instead of Margaret ?

Maria2007loveshersleep · 27/02/2010 17:34

Definitely not Deborah or Maggie. Louisa is my favourite, lovely classic name.

Esmee · 27/02/2010 17:28

I like Suzannah and Louisa best!

bargainhuntingbetty · 27/02/2010 17:25

Dont like Deborah but the other 3 are nice. Maggie makes me think of the Simpsons tho. Suzannah and Louisa are lovely and not very common. Good luck

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/02/2010 17:23

I like all of them except Deborah which remains firmly in the 1970's for me

lifeas3plus1 · 27/02/2010 17:22

I love Suzannah so I'd go fot that. My friend is called Susannah and her nn is Sannah which is a good alternative to Sue/Suizie.
