Our surname begins with a hard G.

DS is 3 weeks old and we just cannot make up our minds!

Help!

Go with your heart then - Jude is a lovely name. There's no need for your head to feel put out

Sunshinemummy · 25/02/2010 11:36

Jude for me. Joseph is a bit too popular.

birdofthenorth · 25/02/2010 11:21

LOVE them both! Not much help, is that? Sorry!

Derv78 · 25/02/2010 00:25

Jude. It's my DT2's 2nd name.

Do like Joseph too though, but on the whole another vote for Jude!

Monty100 · 25/02/2010 00:17

Wish I'd called my ds Jude.

thell · 25/02/2010 00:06

PS. Go with your heart

thell · 25/02/2010 00:05

Jude!
I love it and want it.

Pleeeease can I have a baby boy called Jude??

SE13Mummy · 24/02/2010 23:59

Had DD2 been a boy she would have been Jude so I vote for that. Having said that I think Joseph is lovely too and know of a couple of baby Judes but no recent baby Josephs in my circle of friends.

getawiggleon · 24/02/2010 23:16

Jude, Jude, Jude! There, that's another three votes for Jude. What about Jude Alexander? (fantasy ds's name)

Biccy · 24/02/2010 15:06

Thanks everyone. Overall I think Joseph is winning by a very small margin (12 votes for Joseph, 10 for Jude, counting a vote for each for people who like both equally).

Thing is my heart wants to go for Jude, while my head says Joseph.

Maybe we should do Joseph Jude, just not sure I'll be able to persuade DP to scrap Frederick as his middle name, and don't want 2 middle names.

Hmm.

I love the name Joseph.

I don't like Jude at all, sorry.

skidoodle · 24/02/2010 13:40

Jude the Obscure is a great character. Massive, massive improvement over robot-features, metrosexual, shitehawk Jude Law.

Sorry, Biccy, doesn't help you any.

I don't like Judah at all.

Biccy · 24/02/2010 08:23

Thanks everyone... not sure I'm any further forward! But at least there wasn't a resounding 'yuck' to both of them!

Tortington · 23/02/2010 23:59

i also prefer Judah

Skegness · 23/02/2010 23:49

Joseph

Cadelaide · 23/02/2010 23:45

jude

glastocat · 23/02/2010 23:36

When my kid was born and named Jude a lot of people thought he was named after Jude Law.. My best mate just told them all I was an Eng Lit grad so if he was called after anyone it was Jude the Obscure. I'm not sure if that was an improvement really.

skidoodle · 23/02/2010 23:17

Both very nice names.

I especially like Joseph. Apparently it is becoming very popular at the moment (even more than its "classic" status would normally mean), if that is important to you.

Jude reminds me a bit of the odious Jude Law, but we'll all have forgotten him by the time your DS is 2 [hopefelly]

butadream · 23/02/2010 23:13

I vote Joseph Jude nn JJ

glastocat · 23/02/2010 23:09

My eight year old is called Jude. So thats the best name, obv.

LadyCressida · 23/02/2010 23:03

Jude is one of my favourite names

And it's much less popular that Joseph

omaoma · 23/02/2010 21:27

Jude. Can always be J or JayJay as a nickname!

liliputlady · 23/02/2010 21:22

Joseph!

Lotster · 23/02/2010 20:34

Oh I heart Jude, wanted it for my son but was vetoed!

pointysayhiphip · 23/02/2010 19:54

Joseph
