Our surname begins with a hard G.

DS is 3 weeks old and we just cannot make up our minds!

Help!

Jude is more modern to me

LaundryLyne · 31/07/2010 10:53

Congratulations! Henry is a lovely name

freerangeeggs · 31/07/2010 00:17

Jude!

They're both good though.

eekymouse · 30/07/2010 23:16

Joseph by far. All Josephs/Joes I have taught have been lovely. I find Jude a bit monochrome.

LJS666 · 30/07/2010 23:14

I called my 19 year old Joseph (our surname is S) and called him Joe from day 1.

Ever since he has been able to choose he has called himself Joseph and he loves it.

Jude is the patron saint of lost causes and policemen.

St Joseph Day is 19 March which is very near my birthday which helped me choose.

proudfoot · 30/07/2010 21:44

Joseph

missmiss · 29/07/2010 14:19

Jude is lovely; Joseph is fine but quite common (in the sense of ubiquitous, rather than chavtastic). Pick Jude!

elainesdaughter · 29/07/2010 14:12

Joseph is gorgeous, Jude is terrible imo.

Colliecross · 29/07/2010 10:06

Congratulations on your Henry - great name.

Just looked at the dates of the posts!

Henry is a great name .

LiquoriceLila · 29/07/2010 08:55

Jude is best, Joseph is so boring.

notagrannyyet · 28/07/2010 21:39

Joseph is a lovely name. Don't like Jude....Reminds me of Judus..sorry!

Biccy · 28/07/2010 21:34

Such a long time since I logged on... just thought in case anyone would be amused that I'd update on you on our choice of, erm, Henry.

Jude, definitely

Biccy · 26/02/2010 02:22

joseph I have one fab name!

LittleMissWorryHead · 25/02/2010 20:13

Joseph.

I love Jude too though - OOh i can't decide!

ps Possibly my most unhelpful post EVER! Sorry!

hairymelons · 25/02/2010 12:31

I couldn't decide between the 2. Went for Joseph in the end because it has a family connection.
If you go for Joseph be warned that everyone will call him Joe. We like Joe so that's fine by us.
Both lovely though, you won't regret either.
I'm no help, am I?!

ginnny · 25/02/2010 12:11

Joseph gets my vote. But then i have one of those and he's gorgeous
Jude just makes me think of Jude Law - yuk.

MadameDefarge · 25/02/2010 12:03

I have a joseph so I am clearly biased towards it, but I also think the overall euphony, or niceness of sound of name counts for a good deal.

My RL name is an unfortunate one in that when you say my first name and surname together it is actually quite hard to articulate (ta parents), and sounds a bit bonkers.

SqueezyB · 25/02/2010 12:00

I prefer Joseph, but by the sound of it I think you'll regret it if you don't call him Jude, so go for the name you love.

Go on, give the poor little thing a name, he's 3 weeks old!!

MaryBS · 25/02/2010 11:41

Jude, but I also like Joseph.

Jojay · 25/02/2010 11:41

Jude
