Ha ha I have to respond to this thread since you're all slagging my dd's name on here!

Isobel - not feminine enough
Imogen - too prissy
Marielle - yes I like
Sophia - very good name although I prefer Sophie
Amelia - overused
Jasmine - yes nice
Marissa - hmmm a bit too pretty
Coral - yes that's a cool name, I like
Hazel - pretty
Nieve/Neave/Nee ve - as others have said, only if you're Irish and only as Niamh
Poppy - can you imagine a grown up woman called Poppy?
Taryn - is nice but very different from the other suggestions
Willow - lovely, lovely
Paige - no
Sapphire - that's not a name IMO
Ebony - ditto
Lilly-Rose - too pretty. Lily is good though.

meadowlarks · 24/02/2010 13:02

Isobel - Isabelle's nicer, Izzy is a bad NN.
Imogen - No. Imagine, Midge and Winge in one.
Marielle - Mariella's nicer, but I'm not keen on either.
Sophia - Sophia's are always bitches. Always.
Amelia - Very nice.
Jasmine - Always chavs. Such a loaded name.
Marissa - The OC. So, no.
Coral - I don't understand this name. It's the sort of name you'd give to a boat or a seaside restaurant, not a child. Unless you are a family of deep-sea divers.
Hazel - Yawn. Chavvy.
Nieve/Neave/Nee ve - Reminds me of naïve and knee.
Poppy - Yes. One of my favs ever.
Taryn - Sounds like tavern, tariff and towering.
Willow - Pillow? It reminds me of "willowy" which then reminds me of skinny people, and then "withering".
Paige - No, no, no, no, NO. NOOO.
Sapphire - Porn star. Sounds like "set fire" if you say it quickly.
Ebony - Please don't name your child after a very dark wood if your child will be fair-skinned.
Lilly-Rose - Nice. What about Poppy-Rose?

glammymammy · 24/02/2010 12:32

What about LexiRose instead of Lily Rose?
Saphra instead of Sapphire or Amabelle if you like Amelia and Isabel.

Hazel

Some more ideas?

Imogen - elegant
Marielle - a kind of plum. Or is that mirabelle?
Sophia - lovely
Amelia - nope.
Jasmine - a kind of tea.

Hazel - heroine of The Cat Who Walks Through Walls. Great character but dodgy moral standards.
Nieve/Neave/Nee ve - only if you are Irish!
Poppy - lovely
Taryn - nope. Too made up sounding.
Willow - will guarentee you a chubby toddler.
