I think most of them are lovely with the exception of Coral, Sapphire, Ebony, Lilly-Rose (is on cBeebies and feels rather ver-used in general at the moment), Taryn and Paige. I like Niamh rather than any of the spellings on your list.

Imogen is my favourite from your list.

Isobel -- extremely popular, so no
Imogen -- sounds prim to me
Marielle -- lovely, also like Mariel spelling
Sophia -- lovely, I like it a lot
Amelia -- extremely popular, so no
Jasmine -- I like a lot
Marissa -- don't like, too cutesy/ frilly
Coral -- I like
Hazel -- I love
Nieve/Neave/Nee ve -- I love if spelled correctly, i.e. NIAMH (no if spelled wrong)
Poppy -- insubstantial, frilly
Taryn -- I like
Willow -- I like, but I think Willow goes best for a girl who is 'willowy'
Paige -- too American imo
Sapphire -- I prefer Saffira
Ebony -- I don't like
Lilly-Rose -- too floral and popular imo

I like quite a few of your choices, but Coral struck me as being pretty and quite under-used.

dizzydixies · 20/02/2010 21:27

all this stuff about Isobel being popular always makes me my DD1 is Isabella and she's the only one we know - named after a beloved great aunt I didn't look at stats for choosing hers or the other 2 girls names - if you love it then USE it ffs.
