Sweet as a nn for Annabelle or Antoinette, not keen on it as stand alone, I don't think.

thereyet · 21/02/2010 18:48

Love it, but only for a little girl. Would prefer Annabel or something more grown up and Annie could be a nickname for her in childhood.

MrsPixie · 19/02/2010 19:17

My DD is Annie

soupmaker · 19/02/2010 15:30

Oh yes, my DD is Annie. A brilliant name in my view, but I may be biased

3LegsandNoTail · 19/02/2010 14:20

My Anna (2) was nn Annie from day one by our ds and it has stuck. She refers to herself as Annie now. Good thinkg I think it's lovely

OrmRenewed · 19/02/2010 14:08

I like it. Annie and Ann

Blanchet · 19/02/2010 14:07

I like the name Anne...

Annie I've never been madly keen on as a nickname (still less as a full name); it makes me think of an older woman, a bit dowdy. Still, it's not bad or anything, of course.

Sunshinemummy · 19/02/2010 14:01

I know a little Annie and think it is very cute.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 19/02/2010 13:28

Hmm, not sure...

ChickenInABasket · 19/02/2010 13:20

I love it! DS has a friend called Annie Valentine which is a fabulous name IMHO!

MaggieMaeve · 19/02/2010 13:09

Susannah!

I know some people hate the longer name on the bc idea but I think it's for the best. I remember thinking Annie was really dowdy only 5 years ago (when I first heard of one). Now it's grown on me. So it's a bit like Edith. It's a name that either IN fashion or out of it. Annabel/Anna are less of the moment. I know some older than me, my age, and children too.

There is Johanna too but for some reason I really don't like that.

HalcyonDaze · 19/02/2010 13:05

I love it but as a nn with something longer on the bc....

Annabel
Anneliese
Anastasia
Georgiana
Julianna

Sure there are more but can't think of any

Jenbot · 19/02/2010 12:51

I love it, wanted to consider it for DD but DH doesn't like it.

jasper · 18/02/2010 23:19

WinkyWinkola · 18/02/2010 23:13

Anna is better.

Bubbaloo · 18/02/2010 23:09

bellissima · 18/02/2010 10:46

Annie lovely, Anna even better, Annabel poncey.

LaTristesse · 18/02/2010 10:13

I do, although I prefer Anna!

Skegness · 18/02/2010 09:26

Yes, very much.

hannahsaunt · 18/02/2010 09:20

Dd - born on Saturday - is called Annie

florence2511 · 18/02/2010 02:30

I love it, but teamed with our surname, starting with an A and with 2 sylables, the name would sound like that of a cowgirls.

serinBrightside · 18/02/2010 00:02

Love it.

MaggieMaeve · 16/02/2010 23:55

I do, it's lovely. I'd do it like Kiwichika, I think I'd start off with Annabel and see if Annie evolved.. Annie will go in and out of fashion. Maybe more longevity in Annabel.

I love Annie, Anna, Anya and Anna. BUT oddly enough, not mad about Hannah. I feel the Hs ruin it a bit!

tummytickler · 16/02/2010 23:41

I love Annie, prefer it to Anna or Annabel. Would be tempted to have Anne with Annie as a nn though.

kiwichika · 16/02/2010 23:08

My dds name is Annabel and we call her Annie for short. I love the name as its not to common and its pretty.
