We have two grogeous children dd aged 6 and ds aged 10 months and are hoping to concieve dc no. 3 this year . Both of our children are G's.

Over sunday lunch in our local village pub we have been throwing out names

The firm favourite for a girl at the moment (that we both agree on) is Felicity, not a name we've mentioned beforehand.

We like William for a boy (after OH's Grandad)popular maybe - (not something we are keen about, prefer something not - but collectively we adore it)

Opinions please

My Dh's niece is Felicity, she is tall, willowy, stunning and that name just tops it all off!! Fantastic choice

Onestonetogo · 14/02/2010 17:36

Absolutely beautful name. Plus Felicity Frobisher is the fantastic little girl in Marcus Chown's children's book "Felicity Frobisher and the Threee-Headed Aldebaran Dust Devil".

Felicity, Felicity
You fill me with electricity
But that is not to say you are shocking.

Nice name.

TiggyR · 14/02/2010 16:59

I think Felicity is delightful. William, ok but just a bit...meh.

HalcyonDaze · 14/02/2010 16:57

I think it's sparkly and feminine. Big thumbs up from me.

Would be on my list but rhymes horribly with DD2's name.

rockinghertosleep · 14/02/2010 16:32

I think it's gorgeous! Not overused, very pretty sounding and a great meaning

DaddyJ · 14/02/2010 15:56

It's a lovely name actually.
No, not because I used fancy one in the past!
(we were just good mates, alright)

Short is 'Fe' which is also quite sweet.

Hmmn my parents and sisters will definatley raise their eyebrows. I'm afraid they like anything popular and common. Nothing to 'unheard of' iykwim.

HOWEVER the more i say it the more i love it.

I think we'll just have to agree on a middle name now.

No one has ever raised eyebrows with me and I still get random people saying 'Felicity, that IS a pretty/beautiful name', which is an unusual reaction to hearing an adults name IMO. It is a very feel good name.

Bumbleconfusus, thankyou so much!

Yet again i am sure it will be another eyebrow raiser within my family as with our choice for ds (Gabriel).

However it seems very pretty name and not too common, perfect.

My name is Felicity and I have to say I love it so so soooo much, and I'm sure if you had a DD she would love it too. Its not too common (I think at most I've probably met about 15 others Felicity's in my life), and people in France and Spain always seem very amused (in a good way) because they recognise the 'happy' bit from their own language. I never get it shortened to Flick, and only one person has ever tried (when I was 16 so I was able to be assertive). I did get it shortened by my brothers and therefore others to Fizzy as a child but was able to drop that as soon as I wanted to be called Felicity again.

All in all choose Felicity, yes yes yes.
