Isolde/Iseult....do I nip DH's idea in the bud right now?

We are ttc number 2. I am convinced we'll have another girl. In discussing names DH suggested Isolde or Iseult (the old English version).

At first I thought 'bah, silliness' and now it's starting to grow on me....

What do you think? At least she'll be the only one in the class (indeed, the village!)

ps- he's a great fan of Wagner and says I should be grateful he didn't suggest Frighilda!

Isolde is lovely

Isolde is 'is-older' (with the emphasis on the second syllabe)

Iseult is is-ult (with the emphasis on the first).

I think!

Know what you mean about it being 'workable'- thepoint of the name is that people can call you by it, not have to enter into a discussion about it!

You are saying what I suspected - Isolde good, Iseult odd (although DH has a Belimawr in the family so odd is par for the course)

How do you pronounce Iseult? I'm thinking Isolde is "iz-ZOLD"? I'm trying to say "Iseult" in my head and it's coming out like "result" minus the 'r'. I suppose you can get an idea of how 'workable' the names are in everyday life based on how close my philistine pronunciation guesses are!

Or Brunnhilde

I love Isolde but it's a good job we've got 2 DSs or Dh and I may have come to blows
