One name DP did mention that didn't make me gag is Otto. I have no idea how it will be perceived though, so please let me know what you think!

it is a distinctly unlovely name imo. what is wrong with james, people?

foreverastudent · 08/02/2010 02:50

Was Anne Frank's father not called Otto?

mathanxiety · 08/02/2010 03:24

I think it escapes the posh/ poncy/ chav thing altogether because it's quite international.

bruxeur · 08/02/2010 03:50

I know a dog called Otto.

shoobidoo · 08/02/2010 09:52

Otto is awful - honestly, it is what millions of German 50+ year olds are called, and, in Germany anyway, has very uncool connotations...

MadameCastafiore · 08/02/2010 09:55

Bloody brilliant - better than the chavvy Harvey and Jayden and the boring James and Peter.

10/10 from MadameC for a bit of effort in thinking about a name!

plumblossom · 08/02/2010 11:20

I think it sounds like one of those trying really hard to be "middle class" names.

Meglet · 08/02/2010 11:22

The bus driver in the Simpsons is Otto.

Still a good name though.

sophiesmummie · 08/02/2010 11:29

Don't like it at all, I'm afraid. I don't think it would travel well into other countries either.
