What do you think of James?

Would probably shorten it to Jimmy or Jim. Is Jimmy too old fashioned. Also will be living in Glasgow and don't like the 'uch aye jimmy' aspect of it.

Would give him official title 'James' for naughty times. DD1 is Rebekah but we call her Bekah or Beks. Though in school some people call her Rebekah and others Bekah. Dd2 also has a name that we shorten too.

If he decides he doesn't like Jimmy then he can call himself James.

At the moment it is the only name me and dh can agree on.

Any opinion on the name James greatly received.

James is often abbreviated to Jas when it is written. My grandad used to sign himself,Jas.G.Smith and I always thought it looked great.[He was known as Jim though].

Hadn't thought of Jas. Thanks pranma. I also like Jim.

Jim or Jas are nice nicknames

Can't call him Jamie as Dh not keen on it.

My closest friend of nearly 30 years ,has a son called Jamie and he is my god son so Jamie is a big no, no. He is actually registered as James but noone calls him James and she has admitted she has never ever referred to him as anything other than Jamie.

So, I am hoping she will be ok about me using the name James.

Thanks for replies.
