Jonty. Came very close to using it for DS1.

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 06/02/2010 22:11

Hi Jamieandhismagictorch! Still here and still in pain!

I assume I am still 3-4cm dilated, you can't go backwards can you? I have been having sharp, sudden pains all day, the sort that shock you enough to scream! They only last a few seconds. Had a bloody show this morning also. Baby very active!

DH can't believe I don't know whats going on!! We still can't agree a name either!!

how are you, tryingtobe ? - hope all's well

StrictlyKatty · 05/02/2010 21:37

Not Henry if you have a regal surname. Will sound a bit OTT.

I like Jonty

Jamieandhismagictorch · 05/02/2010 20:23

tulip - I had about 3 options when in labour with DS2. We didn't decide until we'd taken a good look at him. Then it became obvious ...

Jamieandhismagictorch · 05/02/2010 20:21

Good luck

Jamieandhismagictorch · 05/02/2010 20:20

Ooooh - I love this - so exciting. Last time this happened I stayed up for hours ...

like Henry best.

Sorry, don't like Monty or Jonty

Someone told me their baby son is called Sidney the other day. Don't want to take advantage in your vulnerable state, but ........

nigglewiggle · 05/02/2010 19:01

Don't go now, keep posting until he/ she's arrived and you've chosen the name .

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 05/02/2010 18:55

Thanks ladies....not sure how much longer I'll be here, baby feels like its knocking on the door so to speak! Any other suggestions feel free to other......I could be swayed!

Oscar

tulip27 · 05/02/2010 16:20

Can't believe you are asking this whilst in labour, you are obviously great at multi tasking. I think if you can't decide out of those names then mabye the correct name is not in your list. Shall we open this up as a top 3 boys names thread to give you some more ideas and just pray you are having a girl

doodlexyz · 05/02/2010 16:15

I like Monty and Oscar best Although all on your list are good!

Hope everything is going well

PanicMode · 05/02/2010 15:12

We have a Theo and a Tilly, but have moved away from having Rufus and potentially a Rory because we thought it was a bit OTT. I don't think with two of them it matters though!

shoobidoo · 05/02/2010 15:11

Monty and Max are perfect together!

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 05/02/2010 14:58

Would Monty be ok as brothers name is Max??
Although one of our girl choices is a M name too!

Henry -

Oscar - my favourite

Archie - don't really like, too Scottish

Monty and Jonty - don't like

Regal surname may be a problem if you go for Monty or Jonty because then it sounds like an American Rapper or box promoter (if you mean K regal) Henry also a bit strange.

nickelbabe · 05/02/2010 14:53

i like Henry and Archie.
oscar's overdone at the minute.

shouldn't you be concentrating on more important issues right now?

can we make this into a labourthread?

Sunshinemummy · 05/02/2010 14:50

Henry - no
Oscar - like but quite popular
Archie - like but really popular
Monty or Jonty - like both of these a lot

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/02/2010 14:42

Henry and Monty are my favourites

Good Luck !!

PanicMode · 05/02/2010 14:36

We have narrowed our choice down to Monty - it's the only name that we can all agree on. DS1 has vetoed all of my other favourites (Magnus, Jasper, Rory, Casper).

We would have had Henry but it doesn't work with our surname.

Oscar and Archie are super popular.

Jonty - I love this too, but DH vetoed as he doesn't like Johnathan and we would have put a long name on the birth certificate.

Best of luck!!

shoobidoo · 05/02/2010 14:30

I would avoid Oscar and Archie - both are very 'now' and will date badly imo.

Monty, Henry and Jonty are all fab classic names that are much more timeless!

Good luck!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 05/02/2010 14:12

Ohhh and just remembered you are in labour so good luck. I dont think a regal surname matters.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 05/02/2010 14:09

In order:

Oscar
Henry
Archie (Mitchell springs to mind sorry)
Monty
Jonty

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 05/02/2010 14:07

does it matter that I have a regal surname?!

ShowOfHands · 05/02/2010 13:37

Oscar and Archie super popular and will date quickly.

LOVE Henry and Monty.
