What do you think of Matilda, nickname Tilly? How does it compare with Lucinda, nickname Lucie?

I don't think Tilly is twee at all. I know a couple of teenage girls called Tilly who are tom boys and very sporty. They are also known as Tils or Mat.

I have a Mathilda. Can't bear Tilly, so twee and delicate. And I have the least delicate child in the world. She's Tilda or Tild or Tildy or something along that line. Never Tilly.

Not keen on Lucinda but like the name Lucie.

I love Matilda too although it is getting quite popular. Don't like Lucinda.

I love Matilda.
I know 2 peopke called Tilly (even nthough they're not Matildas but they just liked the name Tilly!)

I prefer it to Lucinda but I like Lucy with a Y as a name in its own right.
