My son is Alex(ander), he's 5. I don't know any others, but his school isn't very big.

I know 5, plus one Alexandra. All under 3, the youngest born this month. I personally would avoid, but I don't like names that risk being too popular.

Pancakeflipper · 30/01/2010 21:51

I know 5 all under 4 yrs and each one is delightful. We aren't Berks - we are Yorkshire. I know it's a populular name here but it is one of my favourite names.

ReneRusso · 30/01/2010 21:51

Tis a fab name.

spongebrainbigpants · 30/01/2010 21:45

DS is 19mths.

A fried of mine had a baby in October and also called him Alex so it clearly doesn't bother her and my dh thinks I'm worrying about nothing so if you like it go for it!

It really suits him, it's just that when I dropped him off at nursery and they said "is this Alex D?" my heart sank cos I got so sick of being called Clare S all my life!

hellymelly · 30/01/2010 21:43

I don't know any (west Wales, but until fairly recently central London) at least I know two but they are both in their 30's.I like it,lovely name.

fairimum · 30/01/2010 21:41

hmmm

That isn't great.... been looking at the top 100s and is dropping down the chart at the moment 19 to 34 last year... We are finding it hard to agree on anything at all to be honest and this one seems to 'fit' at the moment.... how old is your DS sponge? John is a family middle name (i'm not keen!)

3 in West London (out of about 20 children) all under 6 months.

spongebrainbigpants · 30/01/2010 21:37

fairi, we live in berks too - our DS1 is called Alex and we know loads (fourin his nursery alone). I love the name but wouldn't have chosen it myself as I have a really common popular name and hated always being one of two or three in my class/work/clubs etc.

But my happy hormones gave my dh the choice and that's what he wanted!

Personally I'd go for John Alexander.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/01/2010 21:33

3, all over 15.

Bubbaloo · 30/01/2010 21:32
