What do people think? A bit silly for a boy? I'm loving it at the moment.

I live too close to Harlow to ever like the name Arlo I'm afraid.

snurgy · 26/01/2010 12:38

It's becoming very very popular. It does sound like 'arlow.

Not overly keen but it's ok.

tothesea · 26/01/2010 12:20

like it gagamama, like it

StillCrazyAfterAllTheseYears · 26/01/2010 12:13

And what, pray, is wrong with having an allotment?

Arlo is a fab name. We know two.

changer22 · 26/01/2010 12:12

I love it and it was on our shortlist - after Arlo Guthrie.

Know 2 boys with it as a middle name and a baby with it as a first.

gagamama · 26/01/2010 12:09

Although perhaps in hindsight, Doug would be the one more likely to have an allotment.

gagamama · 26/01/2010 12:08

Arlo is really sweet but for a little boy, but I'd expect a teen Arlo to have dreadlocks, smoke weed and be a vegan, and an adult Arlo to be beardy, keep an allotment and have a penchant for sandals.

I do actually quite like Doug though!

JaynieB · 25/01/2010 21:10

Doug - please no.
Arlo - like it a lot.

ByTheSea · 25/01/2010 21:06

I really like it.

Lionstar · 25/01/2010 21:05

It is the FABBEST name (but then I am biased ).

It does sometimes get the 'is that a real name?' reaction though.

thisisyesterday · 25/01/2010 21:03

it's cool, had it on my lists for ds2 and ds3

MrsKitty · 25/01/2010 20:59

applecharlotte · 25/01/2010 20:38

I also know an Arlo - after Arlo Guthrie. I like it.

fruitstick · 25/01/2010 19:55

The sports presenter on the Today programme is called Arlo. Had he been the presenter this time last year DS2 may well have been called this.

Doobydoo · 25/01/2010 19:54

Love it.Was on our list

sallyjaygorce · 25/01/2010 19:53

momofnearly2 · 25/01/2010 19:49

My friends little boy is called Arlo. (After Arlo Guthrie)

Love it. It's a very cool name!

dottyaboutstripes · 25/01/2010 14:15

We had a horrified reaction from DH's family when we announced our DS was called Arlo and quite a lot of people said "Pardon?!"

But we love it so that's what counts

ShowOfHands · 25/01/2010 13:40

Arlo's fab. I like the sound. Also like Ivo.

Buntytea · 25/01/2010 13:39

Love it but I remember when Natasha Kaplinksy had named her son Arlo and shortly after she was giving an interview and mentioned she had had some bewildered reactions to it!

BosomsByTheSea · 25/01/2010 13:17

Love it.

Know a very cute one.

LuckyC · 25/01/2010 12:11

I know 3 Arlos: two at nursery, one son of a friend.

Squishabelle · 25/01/2010 11:47

Is Arlo not really a shortened form of Arnold? I know an Arnold who alwags gets Arlo.

Servalan · 25/01/2010 11:45

Makes me think of Harlow in Essex pronounced in the local accent I'm afraid (but that might just be cos I'm an Essex girl...)
