With Rose as middle name to go with 2 syllable surname beginning with 'S'.

I like them both but prefer Verity.

Have to add though that Verity does make me think of a horsey type with a sensible bob and big plans for the PTA summer fête.

SE13Mummy · 16/01/2010 20:21

Another vote for Verity. Have you chosen Rose because it holds some significance for you? I only ask because every second girl seems to have Rose as a middle name; a bit like the late 1970s when everyone I know had Louise, Elizabeth or Claire as a middle name!

Cicatrice · 16/01/2010 20:17

Verity is lovely and is spelled as it is said. Bryony will have a lifetime of mispellings.

onlyjoinedforoffers · 16/01/2010 20:17

i like them both but Verity is lovely

mathanxiety · 16/01/2010 20:15

LOL at "ferrety"
Bryony gets my vote; sounds like briar rose a little bit, with Rose as the mn, so actually a bit like a floral name.

skidoodle · 16/01/2010 20:05

Verity

PollyTechnique · 16/01/2010 20:04

Verity is lovely.

MaggieNilAonSneachta · 16/01/2010 20:04

I like them both, but Verity.

I don't think Verity is ever going to be in the top 50. it's like violet or hazel. it's appeal is more specific if that makes sense.

thisisyesterday · 16/01/2010 20:00

i like them both, although Verity is gfaining in popularity, so i think i would go with Bryony

mummyloveslucy · 16/01/2010 19:58

guitargirl2786 · 16/01/2010 19:53

I quite like Verity.

I really don't "get" Bryony.

yama · 16/01/2010 09:41

Ignore me.

yama · 16/01/2010 09:40

I'm liking Verity at the moment. The young me would be quite surprised.

Bryony sounds like someone is being 'like Bryan' as in that's a bit 'Bryan-ie'.

MummyTumble · 16/01/2010 09:40

Verity love it...think it's a totally different name to Bryony too..

AnnieBeansMum · 16/01/2010 09:32

Both sound a little poncey sorry...but Bryony is the lesser of two evils. Sorry.

Verity sounds a bit "spiky" to my ears. And a bit like "ferrety"
