I really am liking the name Bailey. It's quite unusual and quite cool I think!

What do you lot think? What do you think when u hear the name?

Nice name. Maya Angelou's father and brother were both called Bailey.

ChilloGETALIFEhippi · 16/01/2010 12:57

We named our rabbit Bailey in celebration of the moving away of a noisy American family who lived next door. Their brat daughter was called Bailey.

misswhit · 16/01/2010 12:52

My 13 yr old boy is called Bailey you do hear it more in America. It suits him although I have had my doubts over the years my second son got the far more traditional name of George. I always get comments on what a lovely name it is and he has never complained.

jellybeans · 16/01/2010 11:12

Not keen on surname names. Reminds me also of the Party of Five guy. Will get shortened to Bay. Will be a girls name before long too.

Vivia · 16/01/2010 11:07

Stella McCartney has a daughter named this. I'm sorry but it's awful.

TheBolter · 16/01/2010 11:00

Agree with those who say it is chavtastic. Sorry...

missmama · 16/01/2010 10:43

I know a lovely grown man called this.
And also 2 preschool children.
A lovely name. A tad unusual. Fulfills all my requirements.
Go for it.

BooHooo · 16/01/2010 09:58

I like it spelt Bailey

suwoo · 16/01/2010 09:57

I don't think Bailey is unusual at all, plenty of boys and girls here in Manchester called Bailey or Baylee or even Bayleigh.

Chavtastic. Sorry.

FlightAttendant · 16/01/2010 09:55

Sorry but it rhymes with so many other names

I'm afraid it is a bit 'common' round ere

If you really love it then it doesn't matter what others think, everyone hates my son's name but I care not

dawntigga · 16/01/2010 09:05

My sons middle name is Bailey - didn't use it as a first name as I didn't want him to get bullied at school.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/01/2010 09:02

I like it, when I was younger I always said I would use it if I ever had a boy.(due to watching party of five)
However My horse came before my dcs and I used it to name him instead.

I also know a dog called Bailey too.

Jojay · 16/01/2010 08:58

Not keen - sorry.

bellissima · 16/01/2010 08:54

Were you watching the prog on 60s photographers the other night? To me 'Bailey' is a drink, or David...

persephoneplum · 16/01/2010 07:42

Bailey is really common here, and a bit chavvy. I think it's awful.

HappyBump · 16/01/2010 05:27

I quite like it. I think of an American tv series called Party of Five and one of the children in it was named Bailey.
