And how many in the class?

(and are they lovely little boys?)

There is one Oscar in ds class. He is very naughty but amazingly clever.

Skegness · 15/01/2010 11:32

0 of 50ish and there were 0 of 50ish in their last school too. They are 10 though (twins) and I have the impression that it's increased in popularity over the past few years.

The only Oscar I have ever known was a most delightful, gentle, intelligent border terrier, about 26 years ago.

Egg · 15/01/2010 11:32

Two Oscars at DS1's pre school (age 3/4), of around 40 or so in total. Both are lovely (he is friends with both). It is fairly popular round here but not as popular as DS1's name!

AnAngelWithin · 15/01/2010 11:30

i know of 4 oscars, all under the age of 5. 3 of them are horrid! lol

exexpat · 15/01/2010 11:30

One Oscar (yr1) at school - a little on the um, lively side, shall we say, but generally a nice little boy. And I know at least three dogs called Oscar: all under 2 yrs old, and very cute, but that might not be what you wanted to hear?

mumoftoomany · 15/01/2010 11:29

I know 2 little Oscars, so I do think that the name is becoming quite popular/common. But if you love it, thats the most important thing.

Personally, I prefer Henrik - simple, masculine and more unique.

oohIsay · 15/01/2010 11:29

I know quite a few, about 6 in total. Half are from nice families and the other half are from rough families. It's too popular to be 'posh' or middle-class.

FlightAttendant · 15/01/2010 11:26

called I mean!

FlightAttendant · 15/01/2010 11:25

oh dear I did that...told everyone what he was going to be told, then once he arrived, changed it!

There were a lot of awful silences as everyone (apart from one person I think) hated the name.

It made me feel quite sad but it was his name, and it suits him, and people will get used to it (he's nearly 3)

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2010 11:21

Dh is very unimpressed I am thinking again about the name. So I come to mn.

YES he is 4 weeks old. We have decided on Oscar. Registration of Name is next week.

Everyone has been told. Reactions have been... muted, nay silent!

Oskar

shoobidoo · 15/01/2010 11:19

Henrik is great!

Not keen on Wilfred and Oscar too popular/common imo.

FlightAttendant · 15/01/2010 11:18

One, yr2...lovely kid. I prefer it with a k.

Didn't you just have a baby?!

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2010 11:13

While I'm here:

Wilfred, Henrik or Oscar

Which do you prefer?
