Serenity?

I think it's pretty. It's my favorite word as well . The only issue is, while I think of it as being a virtue name like Faith, Constance, etc, it comes off more as one of those names like Destiny or something, doesn't it? Pity.

BTW I wouldn't use this for a first name, I'm trying to convince DH it'd be a lovely middle name for our someday daughter.

I do see your DH's point about the Eleanora Serenity combo, actually.

I think Eleanora is beautiful (and nice familiy connections) but it is a very very girly dainty name. In combination with another name that's even more so, it does rather overdo it imo.

Eleanor Serenity would work better in terms of not tipping the balance too far into the realms of patchouli oil and whale music. Though I do think Eleanora is the prettier name.

How about Eleanora Mavis?

yes, a bit !

And I really would like to use Serenity or Serena for a first name, but DS is Sam. And while I know names don't have to "go together" really, Sam and Serenity seem to stretch it a bit don't they?

X- posted.

I really like Elle. My DS is Evan though :

Evan and Elle .....

It's lovely.

I like names with a virtuous meaning. My midwife with DS2 was Mercy - seemed apt somehow ...

What about Serena ? I like this for a first name.

But absolutely, go with Serenity

CheerfulYank · 11/01/2010 16:37

Thanks, mama. We really like Eleanora for a first name (it was DH's grandmother and I think Elle is a nice nn.) He thinks Eleanora Serenity is a little too...something. Haven't quite gotten a straight answer out of him as to what that something is, though!

it's lovely
I really like(d) Mercy, damn Madonna....
and also am keen on Clemency

Hope is nice too.

Not wild on Faith or Constance.

Yes, it's pretty and has a lovely meaning. 'S a bit hippy-dippy though.

But nowt wrong with that if you're a bit tie-dye yourself.

Actually though, now I come to think of it, middle names have got more room for being slightly mental alternative, so it'd be fine even if you're a Surrey stockbroker.

Caroline Jane Serenity Porter-Smith. Lovely.

You are not insane at all: it is a brilliant name.
