Please tell me what they are.

Have decided to start afresh.

DH is pretty easy so it's ultimately up to me.

Two syllable 'S' surname very similar to 'Simpson', in fact, I get called Simpson all the time! So if it goes with Simpson, it goes with ours.

TIA.

lovely Dizzy

on hearing DD2's name for the first time my Mother said "WHERE on earth did you get that from, did you make it up?" "erm no we got it from the bible. MIL said "well as long as she is healthy" although she later said that she was unsure of it at first but now it suits her and she couldn't think of her as being anything else and it's very pretty.

Dizzy and Harried - Yes, I know that in both King Lear and Brideshead, Cordelia is a good person. It is just that each is so put upon. But it is a beautiful name.

May Dizzy's Cordelia have a blessed and happy life.

I've always had a soft spot for Liberty, Libby for short. Hubby doesn't...So we have a Mabel, my other love!

dizzydixies · 05/01/2010 21:00

Eugenie nn gene was high on the list for DD2 shoshe

Shoshe · 05/01/2010 20:53

Fell in love with Romilly a few years ago (18 years to late to have called DD it.

And have a snneaking love of Eugenie (pronounces Ujanie)

Willow I like as well.

Cordelia, I go off and on, love Cordi as a NN.

Not sure about the flower names, although as a Cm , have looked after a Rose, Lily, Poppy and a Fleur, who were all lovely little girls.

Have also had a Ruby, Scarlett and Red (Red was a boy)

Do like Ava, Honor, and Matlda, but they are becoming quite popular.

dizzydixies · 05/01/2010 20:50

well fingers crossed mine will

Harriedandflustered · 05/01/2010 20:47

I'm not sure I could cope with the King Lear association with Regan.

Dizzy - I think MadBad knew that Cordelia was the good daughter, but she didn't have a very happy end.

MadBad - Cordelia was the only good daughter

it also means HEART in latin and celtic for daughter of the sea which balances nicely with her mn of Dylan which is son of the sea - it all kind of fell into place for us

SE13Mummy · 05/01/2010 20:09

I may be biased but I would say Harriet and Miriam should be at the top of the list of bestest ever in the world girls' names.

lowrib · 05/01/2010 19:55

Elodie
Edie

MadBadandCoveredinTinsel · 05/01/2010 19:24

At the moment, the bestest names that come to mind are

Beatrice
Lucinda
Keziah
Faith
Hope
Ruth
Miranda
Stella
Alice

I agree about Cordelia, but (irrationally) worry that the Cordelias in King Lear and Brideshead Revisited are not very happy precedents.
