My DH & I are thinking of Eliabella Rose Taylor but have had a bad reaction from the only other person I've told so have started to wonder about it. I know it's rather unusual...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KERALA1 · 18/12/2009 19:12

Mid pregnancy I was hellbent on Lorelei. And our surname begins with L. Hormones calm down towards the end I think.

Dont do it I think its quite bad (Ellabella?!) and I usually like non top 10 names

Heated · 18/12/2009 17:48

Ponyness has acknowledged hormonally charged brain at work.

Own pg brain is entirely responsible for dd's name, I can only hope that when she's older she'll forgive me!

Ponyness, how about
Eliza
Elspeth
Elizabeth
Louisa
Anna
Clemency
Susannah
....

Slambang · 18/12/2009 17:34

labiafalliarina would be nicer imo

TisTheSeasonToBeHully · 18/12/2009 16:21

I LOVE it. I have a niece called Faliaballiarina. So unusual.

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 18/12/2009 16:17

Ohbugger...absolute epitome of MN in one short post.
Brilliant.

KeithTalent · 18/12/2009 16:13

ffs

DON'T CALL HER THIS

OhBuggerandArse · 18/12/2009 16:05

Etymologically, it really can't be a Celtic name - the only Arthurian sources it appears in are the French and Italian versions of the prose Roman de Tristan, and it's clearly Romance in derivation. And pretty makey-uppy sounding at that.

grenadine · 18/12/2009 16:04

not keen on it at all....makes me think Jelly Belly!

ponyness · 18/12/2009 16:03

Thanks so much for sorting out this hormone addled head and not saddling a child with a name that everyone does a double-take at!

Hollyroger, I LOVE the fact that you considered Oak for awhile, has made me feel much better .

The problem is that all the names I loved, Elizabeth, Isabella, Annabelle have all be given to kids of close friends of mine so have had to start from scratch - serves me right for being the last one to get pregnant . So back to the drawing board and hopefully with hormones more in control!!!!

pmsl fartin in the bath.

No, it sounds like a letter has fallen out of the middle or something.

I had some pregnancy shockers btw. Berengaria, anyone?

PollyTechnique · 18/12/2009 16:01

Eliza Bella?

MaggieAnFiaRua · 18/12/2009 16:01

haha!

BalloonSlayer · 18/12/2009 15:59

Sorry but it sounds like someone farting in the bath.

MarioandLuigi · 18/12/2009 15:57

To many 'l's IMO

It sounds like a cute nickname for a Helen or Ellen or Ellie rather than a real name.

DisElfchanted3 · 18/12/2009 15:57

shes called what dear??? jelly belly?? ella belly? hairy belly?

nawwww

PfftTheMagicDragon · 18/12/2009 15:56

Looking at it written down, it looks like there is a letter missing, it looks rather odd.

I don't like it, but I've heard worse.

hollyroger · 18/12/2009 15:55

ponyness, I had some SHOCKING names in my head due to hormones....

At one point I remember arguing that if girls could be called Willow, then why could I not call a boy Oak? And I meant it...for a whole week

Eliah is quite pretty?

MaggieAnFiaRua · 18/12/2009 15:54

Annabella i mean

MaggieAnFiaRua · 18/12/2009 15:53

Elizabeth or Annabel would be more my cup of tea.

eliabella sounds silly.

auntycam · 18/12/2009 15:51

If you like it then why not call her Eliah and have Bella as a middle name.

Tillyscoutsmum · 18/12/2009 15:48

I appreciate trying to be original and the fact it isn't made up but I do think your last sentence sums it up tbh ....

BooHooo · 18/12/2009 15:47

oh dear no
