Sonny is too 'Sonny Jim' comedy policeman routine.
Rafi sounds like it's short for something else.
and well Jeremy is just so naff, very middle aged man name, not grandad cool, just naff.

My mother's uncle is Sonny - hes eighty odd years old now and it suits lovely.

I would call ds (due in Jan) Sonny but dh wont go for it... love it.

Obvious choice here...

Mine's short for Rafaella.

I think Sonny works as a nickname for a small boy but don't really see it for an adult.

I like them all too...but they are all very different.
Rafi makes me think of the american bloke who sings about peanut butter sandwhiches made with jam, so it always brings a smile to my face.

Jeremy was on my boys shortlist, then I met a nob end politician called Jeremy and decided against it. It's a fine name, though.

Jeremy is a great and underused name. I would use it if dh would agree. In fact I might work on him for this one.

Sonnny's lovely -my fave from your list- -although my mum's dog is called Sunny -but he's a very handsome dog!

Sonny is dreadful as a name, but fine as a nickname. Jeremy is quite nice, and Rafi is a bit try hard imo.

Why do people like Sonny? I could possibly begin to understand Sunny, in a hippy sort of way, but why Sonny? It's a slightly belittling nickname an adult might use in a patronizing way to a little boy, or a policeman in a old fashioned TV show might use to describe an unknown criminal "Sonny seems to have got in in through the kitchen window and stolen the Teasmade"

I know a French-Lebanese Raffi and an English Rafi short for Raphael.

Sonny makes me think of Sonny Bono - not that positive a thought (but RIP all the same!).
Not a Jeremy fan.

Please not jeremy! It's a middle aged smarmy man's name - think Jeremy Kyle, Jeremy Beadle, Jeremy Paxman. Agree that Sonny might not suit an adult but I think that Rafi is gorgeous for both a baby and an adult.

Rafi is also an Arabic name - though obviously not if it's a shortened version of Raphael.

remeber you are naming a grown up. Would you really want to be a grown up called Sonny? Would you like your staff to call you Sonny? I honestly don't think you would.
