Cant see how anyone would pronounce it waa-sheen where is the W? It starts with O!!! Its defo Osh-an in Wales

We have an Osian and its pronounced osh-an. Were Welsh, and I love his name and the fact that its unusual. Though not that unusual around here - I know another two Osians (grown up ones!) and I do think its one of those names thats coming back into fashion.
Love it - really suits him. We now have another boy on the way and thinking of Ifan for him

When I seen it, I thought it was like the Irish Oisín (pronounced Ush-een), which I absolutely love.

Waa-sheen I really dont like though, sorry. reminds me too much of the washing.

Seren is beautiful though and I like Oliver.

Beautiful name, so much nicer than Finlay and Oliver of which there are so many now. I like different names though.

Thanks, Expat. Not too keen. The other names are nice, or my ear is more accustomed to hearing them.

expatinscotland · 13/12/2009 10:56

waa-sheen.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 13/12/2009 10:51

How do you pr. Osian?

Littlefish · 13/12/2009 10:49

Ruby was the number 2 most popular name last year, so there will be thousands of them around. Seren is lovely.

Osian is great! I much prefer it to Finlay and Oliver, both of which are so, so common these days.

Good luck!
