Darcey, Eadie, Tabitha, Iris or Bronte

Sorry - haven't managed to narrow it down too much but thiws is my short list....what do you reckon?

Its my first girl after 2 boys (George and Louis) so I am overwhelmed with choice!!!

Darcy - yes
Eadie - only if you spell it Edie
Tabitha - pretentious but I quite like pretentious
Iris - Ok
Bronte - Brontesaurus?

Darcey - I don't like this personally, although it is very popular at the mo. Is like Evie - becoming ubiquitous.

Eadie - not this spelling, but Edie very nice.

Tabitha - a lovely name.

Iris - one of my all time favoruite names. Lovely meaning (rainbow) as well as a beautiful flower. Won't date.

Bronte - don't like this. Why name your child after a bunch of consumptives.

Iris would be particularly good if she's going to have blue eyes! I think it's a lovely name.

I'm with you on the Cult reference, lumpa, I even remember going to Our Price to buy the CD single. (I was more of a Billy Duffy girl than Ian Astbury though, particularly when he went all mohawk-and-peroxide for the Love album)

The song was about Edie Sedgwick though and given how her life story went, probably not something you want to associate your daughter with, is it?!

Iris goes really well with George and Louis. It's a classic name and very pretty.

I like Iris, Tabitha and Edie (NOT Eadie). I have not seen Desperate Housewives, I would associate it with the Cult song. Darcy isn't bad, without the extraneous 'e'. Bronte is a bit pretentious, IMO.

BTW - my baby girl is likely to have light blue eyes, VERY pale skin and strawberry blond hair (ok - ginger!!) just like myself and her brothers, so need to take that into account!...

not keen on Iris but like all others.

DD 11wks is Darcy - so obv thats my fave. We were going to spell it Darcie but all the cards/texts we got spelt it Darcy so we went with that.

I worked with a woman who had a Bronte and althogh i like the name she used it so much when talking about herDD that it was annoying and a tad pretentious

Yes - I think Eadie is actually spelt Edie!...love the name as it reminds me of a song by the Cult back in my student days (ah the nostalgia!) but it also makes me think of the slutty woman in Desperate housewives!!!

so funny you say that Tabitha sounds spoiled as I read my son a story about a spoilt girl called "Princess Tabitha"!!!

I like Edie, but Eadie is just weird.
Tabitha, ok but do you mind the nn Tabby?
Bronte is a bit try hard imo.
Darcey just makes me think "Arsey" but that might just be me.

Darcy would go well with your boy's names. Very pretty. Don't know about Darcey.

Eadie is awful, sorry.

Tabitha and Iris are nice.

Bronte - more of a boys name I think.

Iris gets my vote. A beautiful name and a beautiful flower, and nicely traditional in-keeping with George and Louis.

FWIW my opinions of the others: Darcey's a bit poncey; Eadie's quite nice but never seen it spelled like that before; Tabitha reminds me of spoiled little madams and Bronte just feels like you're trying too hard to sound well read... IMHO!!

Eadie? Made up name IMO. I know one, and think the spelling is really odd. Surely it's short for Edith and should be spelt Edie. Bronte is a boys name or a surname. Love Tabitha and Iris.
