Opinions/thoughts please.

What do you think of Stanley, known as Stan?

I usually love names of this generation but Stanley for a baby REALLY doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Just toooooo old man in a flat cap propping up the bar! Sorry

I love love love it. Fabulous name.

I just can't imagine holding a beautiful newborn and saying 'Let's call him Stanley'. To me, Stanley has to be said in a broad Northern accent and it's forever an old man's name. Obviuosly, lots of people disagree with me, but I can't get my head around it.

I know a little Stanley, but I think of it as a comedy name TBH. Chosen because it was funny rather than lovely. That's probably just me though!

I think it's sweet - definitley one of those newly refreshed names, along with Reggie.

My dad is called Stanley, wouldn't think of calling a child it. I'd keep thinking of a short balding old bloke.

Awful.

MamaLazarou · 07/12/2009 11:22

Like it.

I think its such a lovely name for a little boy - but can't imagine a baby called Stanley, its such a grown up name! Go for it
