It sounded like Amnesty but couldn't possibly have been but I can't think of another name that might sound similar.

Any ideas?

I know a Justice as well. I think it's a great name.

Amnesty. Bless her!

Firawla · 08/12/2009 13:17

Probably Amity

WineBeforePearls · 06/12/2009 16:41

Hmm, or just a chemical manufacturer

WineBeforePearls · 06/12/2009 16:38

Isn't Amity a name?

cece · 06/12/2009 16:23

Ainsley?

MarioChristmas · 06/12/2009 16:07

I know a 'Justice' which I think is fab.

nettlemummy · 06/12/2009 16:01

Maybe it was Anstey or Annesty? I know an Anstey but she is a lady

mumoftoomany · 06/12/2009 11:50

It may have been a foreign name - without knowing the family (heritage), it's hard to say.

Who cares, frankly, anyway?

DisElfchanted3 · 06/12/2009 11:18

Antony

Anssi
Ernesti - both scandinavian names which could sound a little similar!

LOL at Stealth!

I have had:
Old Lady: What's her name?
Me: Samuel
Old Lady: Lovely. How old is she?

BikeRunSki · 05/12/2009 23:27

Are you sure she wasn't saying "Honestly.....!" in a kind of despairing way?

pollywobblebauble · 05/12/2009 23:22

amenastee, surely

LynetteScavo · 05/12/2009 23:11

StealthPolarBear · 05/12/2009 23:10

I think it's more likely to be Amnesty than Steve these days
A woman in Sainsbury's asked "What do you call him?" about DD. When I replied "Alice", she said "Alex", so I said "Alice" again.

is there a name that sounds like Annesti? googling various spellings of it aren't throwing up much but I just have a vague recollection of the existence of such a name.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/12/2009 22:53

It's been bothering me since yesterday.
