My DS1's best friend is Isaac but people often write it as Issac... Izaac is not really a spelling I have seen and people may assume you didn't know how to spell it. My mum taught a Kristifer once.

Zachias?

I think you can legitimately shorten Isaac to Zak if you want. Sounds good. Best of luck.

Sorry - maybe its just me but I hate deliberately mis-spelled names.

Squishabelle · 03/12/2009 17:03

Izaac is a made-up spelling. Looks silly as well. Sorry. Isaac is correct.

SixtyFootDoll · 03/12/2009 16:52

Izaac looks daft

jellybeans · 03/12/2009 16:51

I wouldn't think of Zac as a nn for Isaac, is it eye-zak or eye-zuk in sound? I know an Isaac (eye-zuk)and he gets Ike. You could just use Zac?

MamaLazarou · 03/12/2009 15:14

Of the two spellings, I would choose Isaac. Otherwise he will spend his life saying 'with a zed' over and over again.

pixiestix · 03/12/2009 13:18

I would go with Isaac. Izaac looks a little... um, creative. And Zac is a perfectly acceptable shortening of Isaac.

sunshinejanuary · 03/12/2009 12:08

I would go with Isaac - i think that people would mistake it for this spelling all the time even if you chose Izaac.

Zac is a legitimate shortening of Isaac

jlo1234 · 03/12/2009 12:08

i know but i want it to be a bit different but dont know if its just stupid! i wanted to call him zachary but there is a few being born around here at the min

you can still shorten it to Zac if you spell it Isaac.
