Clementine Pearl for a December baby?

Have decided on Clementine Pearl.
Made the mistake of telling people and have had one or two comments of "How seasonal!"

What do you think?
General thoughts and comments on the name would be appreciated too. We received another comment that it was fashionable at the moment too?

I know we shouldn't listen to people, but forewarned....

Like Clementine, not keen on Pearl.

I know a baby Clementine, born in the spring iirc. Have never heard anyone suggest that the name was seasonal or say anything derogatory.

IMHO it is nice to have a name that is a reference to the time of year you were born. These sort of names make me think of people who are earthy, genuine and true lovers of life. Having a name that tells a story of the natural rhythms of the land or humanity seems earnest and good. For me Clementine being seasonal is the very thing that is so great about it. I love the sound of the name but it is the poetic seasonal quality that I love most!

Clementine and possible use of Clemmie are lovely. Pearl is not one of the retro names I'd go for but is a lovely name nonetheless.

I adore Clementine and would have it for ours but it would be rubbish with our surname - go for it.

Hate Pearl though. Sorry.

It's totally gorgeous, and it would never occur to me that it's seasonal.

Clementine Churchill, was she Winston's wife?

My Grandad used to sing 'My darling Clementine' to me. I loved it, but always thought the words of the song are rather... odd Might be worth googling just so you're pre-warned.

Clementine as a girls' name comes from the name Clement, surely? Which is not a noun.

.... well, you could argue it is not two nouns if you take the name from its source as in 'Clemency' and forget the small orange for a minute....

Love it! I have a Clementine, I never think of her as a seasonal orange though....

I am however slightly put out that the song that the older generation insist on singing to me/her is about someone dying!! Please don't let that put you off though, my Clem is full of fun.

Loving Pearl too, we went through Rose, Jane, Mae... never thought of Pearl!

Or calling my boys Cooper Hunter etc. A name is for life, and has to smooth your way through school, work, travel, romance etc etc. That's why I raised the question as to whether this child would be bothered by two nouns. She may not. Others may notice it though.

Clementine shortened to Clem or Clemmie is so, so lovely. I wouldn't have thought of it as seasonal but I think it's nice to have the reference towards a winter birthday. Gorgeous
