Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have only seen the first Star Wars film and am not a fan but got the connection.

I would not name a child Anakin, he will spend his whole life smiling politely at people who think it is funny to say 'May the force be with you'

birdofthenorth · 21/12/2009 14:32

I'm not a big starwars fan so didn't get that association, but it mostly nade me think 'ramakin' or 'anaconda'.... sorry!!

IsItMeOrSanta · 21/12/2009 10:12

Seriously, you weren't sure people would get the Star Wars connection?

ellesabe · 21/12/2009 09:52

Sounds too much like anarchy

MummyTumble · 01/12/2009 12:29

scottishmummy · 28/11/2009 15:30

mumoverseas · 28/11/2009 15:27

Fab name. No doubt you'll buy him a light saber for his first birthday?

scottishmummy · 28/11/2009 15:26

Disenchanted3 · 28/11/2009 15:25

scottishmummy · 28/11/2009 15:24

what about kipper minge thats a nice cleanrespectable name

wuglet · 28/11/2009 15:22

Oh surely more then 9 in the UK! I know(of) two myself!

It is a nice sounding name but definitely will be completely associated with Starwars.

MamaLazarou · 28/11/2009 15:20

Nay, nay and thrice nay!

Disenchanted3 · 27/11/2009 11:35

I was considering Ahsoka for DD, I also like Amidala but decided to stay away as our cat is called Vader

BonjourIvresse · 27/11/2009 11:32

Was it a name before SW? I'd not be keen because of the SW back story.

MummyTumble · 27/11/2009 11:28

I think there were around 9 born in the UK in 2008

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/11/2009 15:17

I didn't make the link with SW.
I know one RL Anakin (adult friend of friend), but iirc she is not of English origin - I forget whether she is french or dutch now - french I think.

tostaky · 25/11/2009 14:46

Well.. obviously it is not my idea, but DP's...
I was just wondering if people actually made the connection with Stars Wars. i wouldnt because i have actually never seen star wars...

I was looking at national statistics though and apparently there are 63 Anakin in France... so you know, people do it... Not sure about Britain though, couldnt find stats.

Darth is nicer.

AvadaKedavra · 25/11/2009 14:44

I think SW associations aside it's a nice name

lucykate · 25/11/2009 14:42

no, no no!, i once told my brother that my dc's middle names were leia and skywalker, he believed me for a while. i was just joking.

MrsMerryHenry · 25/11/2009 14:40

Has someone offered you money to name your child Anakin? It better be a lot.

How about Jabba as a middle name?

Tortington · 25/11/2009 14:39

only if middle name is sky and surname is Walker

8oreighty · 25/11/2009 14:39

no way.
for real?

porcupine11 · 25/11/2009 14:39

x-post Darrell, the force must be with us

porcupine11 · 25/11/2009 14:38

I prefer Chewbacca, but it depends on your surname
