Ok, so if you had to list one, what would you say your very favourite girl's name is?

Catherine. Mine will be born in about 6 weeks

seeker · 08/11/2009 20:57

stressedHEmum - we love Grainne too - and so very nearly used it for our dd, but the worry about spelling stopped us so we gave her the Anglicised version - Grace. Which is also lovely.

Rowan - I wanted it for DS' name then DH found out it could be a girl's name, too so he nixed it! We have a beautiful boy's name now, though, it's my favourite word in the whole world now

Clover. Not allowed to use it though.

I also love Catherine, but can't use it.

But of course

LEONORA. It just sounds so gorgeous when said out loud.
Has a beautiful melodic sound.

Easy to say and spell.

Is a very old European name.

Beethoven has a symphony to Leonora.

Travels well so recognizable all over the world.

There will not be another one in the whole school{smile]

Gorgeous in every way. IMVH humble O.

Jane Austen fan by any chance?

TheFallenMadonna · 08/11/2009 18:28

How odd Janeite. I was just coming on to say Marianne and Elizabeth

JANEITEluddite · 08/11/2009 18:27

Chica - my dds have two of your dd's names between them - we must have similar taste!

JANEITEluddite · 08/11/2009 18:27

Elinor / Marianne / Elizabeth - I have two daughters and didn't name them any of these though.

bluebump · 08/11/2009 18:26

Thea

Followed by Kitty.

Or maybe Iris.

teameric · 08/11/2009 18:26

Evie (it's my DD's name)

thelunar66 · 08/11/2009 18:24

Charlotte

Closely followed by Elizabeth and Katherine.

Chica31 · 08/11/2009 18:22

Isabel. My dd's name,it has always been my favorite and luckily DH liked it too. Though when we came back to England in the summer I discovered it seemed to be the name of the moment. Oh well...

Her middle name is Naiomi. Another all time favorite of mine. If we have another girl I don't know what we would call them, they have always been my top two.

ihatemyjob · 08/11/2009 18:19

Eloise

4andnotout · 08/11/2009 18:18

Evangeline is my favorite name but even after 4 dd's I still haven't used it.
