Oh for the love of all that is decent!! Why? WTF?? And these are the sort of people the yoof want to emulate. Poor little beggar

yelpol · 02/11/2009 19:54

i really don't think it's so bad - much better than apple, pixie, etc...

gigglewitch · 02/11/2009 19:53

spot on fannybanjo
half the kids in liverpool will be called the same in the next year or so

I think the kai bit is fine, but like the majority round here I reckon the Wayne bit was, er, unnecessary. And really really doesn't "go".
They should've asked mumsnet

fannybanjo · 02/11/2009 19:48

Tide, yes, no doubt baby Kai won't be saddled with the double barrel Kai-Wayne, as usual, a lot of boys take their father's first name as a middle name.

herjazz · 02/11/2009 19:48

it sounds like a small child narrating their kung foo moves

arf at it being wayne kai instead

Tidey · 02/11/2009 19:44

I was working on the assumption that Wayne was the baby's middle name, not part of his first name. When I read that she'd had the baby I was expecting the usual celeb nonsense name, y'know... Atlas or Pomegranate or whatever. Kai, whilst not being my cup of tea, is nowhere near as bad as I thought. Using the dad's name as a middle name is fairly common, isn't it? (As in 'seen frequently', not the other kind)

UnquietDad · 02/11/2009 19:41

Wayne's dad is called Wayne? It gets worse. I might have known.

fannybanjo · 02/11/2009 19:40

I am very surprised they have gone for Kai, I thought she would have gone to something far more traditional, not sure why. Kai is okay, not my cup of tea but Kai Wayne is a piss take surely? I reckon they might come out with the "real" name in the next couple of days.

Kai Wayne said in a heavy scouse accent (I am scouse so can take the piss) is not pleasant on the ears. "Keeyeiwainnnneeee, gerr here NOW!" - oh fucking hell. Poor kid.

dizzydixies · 02/11/2009 19:34

well said Northern

Stroplet · 02/11/2009 19:33

Wayne's dad is called Wayne, so they seem to be carrying on the family tradition. Coleen's mum is called Colette. Why I retain these facts, I am not sure. Kai Rooney is not too bad. Could be worse, at least it's a proper name.

Northernlurker · 02/11/2009 19:28

Well I wouldn't use it but then I don't know where to start listing the differences between Coleen and Wayne and dh and I so that's not surprising.

It's not the worst name ever and it's not the best - I'm sure he's a lovely, lovely baby though and a source of great pleasure and joy to his parents. Let's just all dwell on that whilst we wince about the name!

Hulababy · 02/11/2009 18:43

Not my choice. Guess it could be worse though.

forehead · 02/11/2009 18:42

bumpsoon · 02/11/2009 18:40

hahahahahahahahahah oops i think a little bit of wee came out

Brightfield · 02/11/2009 18:14

Kai is ok. Cai even better.

Wayne is ok as a MN.

Not to my taste but not awful IMO.

boodleboot · 02/11/2009 17:58

oh dear sorry laughalot - my post looked very rude coming after yours...twas unintentional....

boodleboot · 02/11/2009 17:56

i like the name Cai but think that spelt with a K is not pleasant. Wayne is about the worst boys name i can think of....

laughalot · 02/11/2009 17:11

My husband is wayne its not all that bad

FimboFortunaFeet · 02/11/2009 17:09
