Come share the names you, for whatever reason, wouldn't ever use, but love with a passion

Here are mine

Girls
Harlot (I KNOW, I know)
Rain
Dream
Ever
London
Paris
Noelle

Boys
Canyon
Baylor (cat's name now )
Rohan
Corbin
Caspian
Noel

I'm sure I have more that I need to think of

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ArcticFox · 14/02/2010 07:41

Jean Baptiste - I love it, but you've got to be French or it looks stupid.

Isaiah- Middle name potential but too full on for first name (for me anyway)

Shoshe- I'm actually seriously considering Jemima

Shoshe · 12/02/2010 19:47

Jago
Milo
for boys

Jinty
Romilly
Jemima

for girls.
(much to old for childbearing now tho)

But then I called my kids by 'odd' names back in the day,

DDIL wants Forrest for a boy and Zeffi for a girl (she is South African tho, so they might not be such different names there)

LetThereBeRock · 12/02/2010 19:28

My latest is Ozias. I'd love to have a baby Ozzy.

Joni783 · 12/02/2010 19:15

I love love love Xavier for a boy and Aaliyah for a girl...

BlueBumedFly · 12/02/2010 18:16

I hate it when you own child's names come up on these

...never know if it is a good thing or a really bad thing....

CleverCircusFlea · 12/02/2010 17:59

Maia/Maya for a girl.
Fox for a boy or a girl. I think Fox is the coolest name on earth!

Bumperlicious · 12/02/2010 17:32

Twm - (Welsh for Tom) how cool to have a name with no vowels!
Seraphina
Octavia
Hera (actually, that one might still be on my actual list )
DD was very nearly Sapphire

asdx2 · 12/02/2010 16:48

mummyloveslucy · 12/02/2010 16:27

i called my daughter my dream name. honey.

if i had another girl i would call her ofelia (pronounced in the spanish way like pans labaryinth).

this is in my dream where i am also standing in a fabulous kitchen introducing my children to a magazine editor who is running a piece on me.

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 12/02/2010 16:00

DH and I both loved Tallulah, but wondered whether we should given Jessie Wallace...

Anyway, DS2 was a boy, so that was that one done and dusted.

CardyMow · 12/02/2010 15:22

I love Opal for a girl, but DP has always said it is too old-ladyish. Also Eilidh, but as am living in SE england, either no-one would pronounce it correctly, or no-one would spell it correctly. Still in my top 5 if I ever have any more though . Boys, I love love love Ruaridh and Lachlan, but again with the pronunciation. Plus neither would go with the boys names that have already been used for DS1&2 and DS3(sb). But then Eilidh wouldn't go with DD's name. And what for middle names? have used family names/ friends names all with meaning for all the dc's. DD's middle name is the 'family' middle name, all the first-born daughters have it for err 6 generations, DS1's middle name is my Dad's name (he died when I was 10yo), and DS2's middle name is the name of my best male friend who died in a quad bike accident while I was pg with DS2. DS3's middle name was the family 'boys' middle name. I think tbh if I had any more, it'd be the middle name that'd really stump me!

allydennis · 12/02/2010 15:19

mmmmmmm I love this thread....

Maggie-May for a girl
Hunter for a boy

But DH has vetoed both for being too 'celebrity-esque' (sadly we are not celebrities)...

littledawley · 12/02/2010 15:05
