Recently dealt with a woman at work who had called her daughter Beau - all very well but unfortunately this was teamed with the surname Lock.
I wonder sometimes if people think through how names will work together.

Half of these I didn't get at first, so when naming ds it helped that my partner was a teacher with a somewhat juvenile sense of humour he kept saying "oh no they'll get called this... at school" to my choices.

had a teahcer at school though Mr Nice not too bad you think except he insisted it was pronounced neece, his initial was P - I got that one!

And I once met a Willie Winkler.

There's a journalist at the Manchester Evening News called Wayne Ankers.

Heat magazine picked up on this and ran a story about him and included his photo, which then prompted loads of girls to write into Heat / the M.E.N asking him out on a date. Trufact.

jeee · 13/10/2009 12:50

Used to have a customer at work called Mr T Bagg - he must have a sense of humour about it as he always used his initial.

mumof2222222222222222boys · 13/10/2009 12:22

There is a senior officer in the Navy called Captain Twitchin. Fair do's, but why for the love of God would he chose to call himself Dick?

I also came across a Dwayne Pipe.

BarakObamasTransitVan · 13/10/2009 12:09

I rather like names like "Alister Mcalister". And I think Luke Skywalker is rather cool

Arsed · 13/10/2009 09:37

I looked after a chap called Randy Workman for a while.

Cortina · 13/10/2009 09:29

I worked with an American called Ed Wanker! You'd change your name, surely? He was bemused at first as to what the problem was, maybe wanker isn't used in the USA?

chaostrulyreigns · 12/10/2009 23:13

Friend's nephew was Thaddeus Frogley now known to everyone as tadpole.

Customer where I worked was Mr Major Khakh.

Friend of friend (fof?) knew 2 brothers - Peter and Andrew Nurse. Not so bad you think but they become formally - Mr P Nurse and Mr A Nurse.

JuJusDad · 12/10/2009 23:08

Once upon a time I worked in a call centre. Few of the names I remember:

Maximum Velocity (somehow he got married and became Velocity-Hanks, as did his wife )

Treasure Island

Ufuk Gur (a doctor, doubtless is something completely normal in his own language)

Can't remember any more just now.

snice · 12/10/2009 22:58
