lola0109 · 03/10/2009 23:09

Hi,

My DP and are sre struggling for a girls name. I want Ellen Elizabeth (after my grandmothers) but DP isn't convinced.

He has, however, agreed on Ellen as a middle name (i'll sneak in Elizabeth later)

So what we're really looking for is

(BLANK) Ellen Elizabeth F

Dp likes Isobel, which I used to love but I've gone off now.

DD1 is Ainslie Frances although the names don't have to go but would be nice if they sounded nice together.

Any help would be great! Thanks.

Sorry, not been on, thanks for all the suggestions.

I love Christina but it's my sisters name.

I suggested Mischa to DP but he said it reminded him of Misca mooska mickey mouse! So that's a no!!

We can't even get a common groubnd, he likes Rheagan, Lauren, tyler (???) and Cailin. Cailin is the only one that's growing on me.

From all your suggestions I love

Susannah
Phoebe
Christina
Claudia

thesecondcoming I love scarlett but the surname is Foot, Scarlett foot sounds like a disease!

lola Did you like any of the suggestions above ?

Mischa is quite nice. Nice idea to incorporate your mum's name (that's an unusual spelling)

lola0109 · 06/10/2009 22:33

Well I went for my scan today to find outr it hadn't been booked properly so have to wait another two weeks. Gives me 2 more weeks to try think of something!

What do people think of Mischa? My mum is Mechele and I'm trying to think of something that will maybe incorporate that?

City Angel, my niece is Erin so I'm trying to stay away from something too similar.

I liked Lois Ellen but my niece is Erin Louise, too similar?

I like Phoebe but its a no as is Abigail and Zoe. Laila was on our shortlist for DD1 so may try again with that.

Boys names all picked out, we have one definite which we had first time round and a few others for any future (yeah right) kids!

If i give you them it might give an idea of what we like, we have DD who is Ainslie Frances.

Definite boy is Lauchlan James.

Others are Killian Andrew and Innes Michael.

There is a scottish/celtic theme there but thats not deliberate.

Maybe that will help with ideas?

Let us know if we need to think boys

cityangel · 05/10/2009 23:06

What about a more unusual/ shorter version as a first name: Elin, Beth, Erin, Ella?

I know sisters imogen and abigail, I prefer Imogen as Abigail will just end up being Abby/Abi so you might as well call them that in the first place.

or there's:
Zoe
Tamsin
Seren
Kate
Jessica
Lucy
Laila
Lorelei
Phoebe

lola0109 · 05/10/2009 12:49

Its quite difficult as he has an unfortunate surname, when we get married I think i'll keep my own, but our poor kids! Think body part...

I have my detailed scan tomorrow and I want to find out the sex.

I'm getting quite stressed as I would rather have even a few maybe's so if they say it's a girl I don't think "oh s* need to think of a name" it took us months to decide on DD1's name.

anyway, DP is now asking for Lauren or Rheagan, neither of which I'm keen on.

I'm swaying towards Imogen or Abigail.

More suggestions would be greatly appreciated. we just need one we both kinda like and then it's a start!

lola0109 · 03/10/2009 23:30

I like Imogen, I have suggested that too. He's at work at the mo so I'm texting and he's probably sitting there rolling his eyes.

Cityangel, Harriet is out. Ainslie & Harriet?

I quite like Amelia and really like Eliza but my SIL is due 3 days before me and her girls name is Alicia so I think they might be too similar. If she has a boy then great!

I would say I might go first but I think thats quite mean to use a name so similar to hers, no?

I keep rolling Phoebe around... I'll suggest it!
