Anyone chosen a name that doesn't 'work' with your surname?

I mean a name like 'Scarlet' with the surname 'Rivers' or something like that.

Tempted to go for one that is in 'risky' territory. Something like India Summer not quite Teresa Green but edging dangerously (?) towards.

I love the first name so much I am sorely tempted, is this always a crime? Would it really lead to teasing? Do you know any that fall into this category? Thanks

To ninedragons - how annoying!

The thing is some I think are too paranoid about it. For example not having a Sam and an Ella. I don't see a problem with that, just call them Ella and Sam or something...

Is something like Harry Harvey ok for example?

I've mentioned my proposed combination of names and some pick up on it and say 'are you crazy' others don't at all. The combination of names in my case makes something which sounds pleasant if people 'get' it? Does that matter less?

I wouldn't.

My favourite baby name (since I was about 20) rhymed with DH's surname, so it was ruled out.

DH has a boss called Mike Hunt (I know it's an old one, but that really is his name)
My mum had a friend called Theresa Brown.
I have a relative called Ken Wood.

I really think it depends what the name is, some people just dont twig, i went to school with a boy calle Mika Litorus he and several others were oblivious to the sniggering.
