Only 3 weeks to go and still undecided. I really liked India but my sister in law told me that India together with our surname sounded like an Indian restaurant! Its put me off it!

All the names I like end in a.
Tatiana
Anoushka
Gabriella
Anastasia
I know there are others but pregnancy brain has made me forget them!!
All too much with India I think.

If your worried about how it goes with your surname, what about a middle name to break it up? Maybe something more traditional, that shuts up the folk who turn up their noses at your 1st choice as well!

Nothing wrong with India Knight or similar IMO. We have chosen a potentially 'problematic' first name for one of ours given our surname is a noun. It was a bit risky but so far she hasn't had any problems.

Mmm this is all very helpful. If its a girl her full name would sound like 'India Knight' not our surname but sounds similar.

I wudnt say its too popular, just popular enough not to sound weird or 'hippyish' iyswim. My friends dd gets called Indi quite a lot for short. I like names with a bit of originality, there wont be fifty other kids with the same name in school!

I love it. It's pretty but when my friend said 'I have to go and feed India' it sounded like she was on a humanitarian mission!

A friend of mine has a Rhodesia, now that's an interesting choice.

Heard of a Sahara also recently (not a fan).

Thanks for comments is it too popular? Hullygully does it just make you think of balti's and nan bread?
