Has anyone had NO positive reactions to DC's name in real life?

I'm too scared to post in the Am I Being Unreasonable section, but I suppose my question would be AIBU to expect at least ONE positive reaction when people ask DS2's name? His name is Edward, so not exactly an out-there name. It was a bit of a compromise name and I'm still trying to get used to it myself, so to not have one single person (family, friends, or people in the street) say "oh isn't that nice?" in 6 weeks is becoming really quite disheartening. Especially as I always thought that was the polite automatic response, regardless of real opinion! I'm not sure if we've picked a name that's just generally disliked (to the point that people can't even fib and pretend they like it!!), or whether this happens to everyone and I'm expecting too much?

I think it's lovely too. I like Teddy as a nickname as well.

As TheCrackFox said- very classy.

It's a lovely name. You can call him Teddy too, which is a great name imo.

I have an Edward. I lOVE the name, and have had very positive reactions to it.

We call him Eddie, or EddieBear, or Teddlington, but Edward is a name with gravitas and class for when he's older, and Ed great for a teendager with mates, in my very biased opinion.

Its a lovely name, don't worry! I don't think you need other people to validate whether you chose a 'good' name or not, I am sure they are too busy cooing over your little boy to comment on your name choice.

Its also my nephew's name and its great! Edward for his career, but Ed to his mates and Eddy for his family. Lovely name - and it was my grandads too.
