  1. Eve
  2. Iris
  3. Alice
  4. Lucy
Kiddi · 16/08/2009 01:02

All pretty names but
Iris most uncommon ( i also like Violet)
Lucy common amongst my peers
Eve uber common in DD peers
Alice - makes me think of delicate child, sometimes too delicate.

but I like long odd names, so what do I know.

teafortwo · 16/08/2009 00:14

tummytickler - I really do deeply love the name 'Iris' and looking at your profile your Iris is a true smasher!!!

Jeepers - I think if you don't 'feel' Eve and Mr Jeepers doesn't 'feel' Lucy Alice you need to find a different name you both love! There are so many dreamy girls names out there - there is certainly one for your little one that you both will adore calling when it is dinnertime!

1.Lucy...lovely name, my favourite
2.Eve...OK, prefer Eva.
3.Alice...not keen.
4.Iris...not keen, old ladies and eyes.

Linnet · 15/08/2009 23:54

I like Alice, Lucy and Eve, in that order I always think that they are young sounding names.
I'm not so keen on Iris, can't really give a reason just don't like it as much.

YommyMommy · 15/08/2009 23:53

Alice - Love it!
Iris - Like it and its quite unusual!
Eve - Everyone had Eve, Eva, Evie! Too common!
Lucy - No!

Peridot30 · 15/08/2009 23:46

LUcy for me

pooka · 15/08/2009 23:45

The Anna and Eve thing is good - would you anna and eve it. Great idea.

plonker · 15/08/2009 23:41

Post delivery sounds good

angrypixie · 15/08/2009 23:27

And, hit him with the Anna & Eve theory

Jeepers · 15/08/2009 23:26

Plan A: Dh is won over by persistent and relentless championing of my favourite names (not looking promising so far but still have time!)

Plan B: calm and reasoned debate resulting in satisfactory compromise for us both. See below in thread for previous attempts at that

Plan C: tears, guilt, bribery to be used at aappropriate time, possibly post delivery

Somebody said Eve is not classic. Huh?! You know Eve from the bible?!

GossipMonger · 15/08/2009 23:21

Eve - Not keen at all. Lots of Evies around.
Love Evangeline but not Eve.
Lucy - bit dull. Pretty but a few about.
Alice - Love Alice and only know my SIL who is called Alice. Al for short.
Iris - Am loving Iris and dont know any.

Dont think I would be brave enough to go for Iris (bit old ladyish) so my vote goes to

ALICE

Alice Eve
Alice Lucy
Alice Iris???

Actually Alice Lucy Eve is pretty.

MaggieBeauLeo · 15/08/2009 23:19

Eve - gorgeous love it.
Lucy - like it
Alice - salright!
Iris - really harsh

tummytickler · 15/08/2009 23:18

teafortwo - i love your reasoning for Iris - makes me chuffed for my dd to be named Iris (named after Murdoch/my grandmother), she is very bright!

plonker · 15/08/2009 23:18

@ Fimbo

teafortwo · 15/08/2009 23:17

What abou Evie?

It is a bit quirkier and more girlyfied ()than Eve (that to my ear has a rather sober serious feel compared to your other more floaty sounding name suggestions) and ontop of it - it has the 'eee' ending of Lucy...

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 15/08/2009 23:16

Iris - just v pretty
Eve - I like Evie
Alice - pretty but sounds quite old fashioned (good if you like that though)
Lucy - know too many lucy's

Eve or Iris could both be first.

My DH really like Lauren and I really liked Grace for our DD but we couldn't stand the others choice (I really didn't want a Lauren, he was the same with Grace). We decided you couldn't really call a child something that one of you didn't like because it would always be there.

Hope that makes sense.

Fimbo · 15/08/2009 23:15

Have you tried crying?????

plonker · 15/08/2009 23:13

Well, fwiw, I agree with you Jeepers

angrypixie · 15/08/2009 23:12

Isn't Anna & Eve a bit too close to Adam and Eve??????

Would you Anna and Eve it

And for me it's a big no to juicy Lucy!

Fimbo · 15/08/2009 23:09

Sorry forgot Iris - it seems a bit slebville

Fimbo · 15/08/2009 23:08

Eve too popular and all connations of.

Lucy and Alice are classic and timeless. In fact I know twins with these names.

Jeepers · 15/08/2009 23:07

I love both Alice and Lucy

Alice Lucy
Lucy Alice

Lovely!
