I really like it - DH thinks it's ridiculous and poncy. Is he right? Eek feel nervous now that you're all going to agree with him

I really like it!! do live a bit near clapham though so that's it ruled out for me!!

Honestly, I was thinking earlier that I like the name Ines for a girl, and then thought of Inigo and thought yeah that's not too bad.

DH would be having none of it, however! He only likes the names Elizabeth and James .... sigh....

Ewe · 08/07/2009 18:12

It's the name of a bar near me, that would put me off personally. Assume you don't live near Clapham though so it probably won't matter!

Inigo is a lovely name and Inigo Jones was a great name. It's on my list for any future possible Ds! Sadly, DP hates all boys names except Jacob, so...

scaredofthegarden · 08/07/2009 18:03

Also immediately thought of the Princess Bride. Everyone of our age will.

I have to say I think its unfair to give a child a name like that. He'll forever be asked to repeat his name and everyone will think its indigo. Don't do it.

ThingOne · 08/07/2009 18:00

I only know Inigo Jones too! Great name.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/07/2009 18:00

I like Inigo. It is on my fanatsy baby names list. Not that i would ever use it as surname is Jones, but still.

It's a lovely name

Oh Reality!! You beat me to it.

Fuffing LOVE that film.

BTW unless you're Spanish, no way.

Nekabu · 08/07/2009 17:54

A vote for it here!

ShowOfHands · 08/07/2009 17:11

I love it. If I had a son I'd call him Inigo.

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!

Can't resist it. What a film.

Doctorskidaddle · 08/07/2009 17:04

he doesn't sound too bad lionstar - isn't it OK to kill someone if they killed your father (not legally of course, but morally?)...

Doctorskidaddle · 08/07/2009 17:01

but indigo is my favourite colour

CountessDracula · 08/07/2009 17:01

i can think of worse nicknames than indigo though!

LionstarBigPants · 08/07/2009 17:01

Inigo Montoya - 'The Princess Bride'

twoluvlykids · 08/07/2009 17:00

if the choice is between Mowgla, Reef, or Inigo, then I'd go for Inigo.

however, I wouldn't choose it myself - the kids at school would call him Indigo

LionstarBigPants · 08/07/2009 16:59

I've always secretly fancied it - after Inigo Jones the architect

Doctorskidaddle · 08/07/2009 16:59

oh is there an evil Inigo in some great work of literature or something?? I only know about Inigo Jones

ooh really countess? I am ridiculously chuffed by just one positive reply. Please keep them coming and I will show this thread to convince him!

(FYI he likes unbelievable ridiculous names such as Mowgli (yes really) and Reef (not even a name)
