Claudia - pronunciation please

DH and I both like Claudia but prefer the pronunciation Clowdia. How do you say it properly - Clow-d-ia or Clowd-ya?? Thanks!!

I would say Claw - dia too.

As an alternative Cleodie is the Scots variant (pronounced Cloudy)

You don't want someone in the notoriously cloudy UK being called Cloudier.

the cloud-ia pronounciation is much nicer than the claw one. it shouldn't be a problem as both ways are fairly well known and if they say it wrong once you could always correct them

'Cloud-ia' is nice, but she will spend her life being called 'Claw-dia' and having to explain.

Germans say Cloud ee ah and it is the nicer way, I think. Clawdeeah is a bit "posh"

Cloud-ia is also acceptable.

Claw-dia is the English pronounciation - Cloud-ia is the European way.

Personally I have always said Cloud-ia if that makes sense rather than Claw-dia.
