Sounds a bit wet to me.

piscesmoon · 10/06/2009 07:47

NO

Pingpong · 10/06/2009 07:32

this name, although I wouldn't use it, is a lot better IMO than some others I've read on here.

jabberwocky · 10/06/2009 02:45

Lola? Is that you?????

zookeeper · 10/06/2009 02:35

oh nooooooooo...no, no, no.

Sorry.

Northernlurker · 10/06/2009 00:03

Sure name your son after something huge, overwhelming, with uncharted depths and quite a lot of crap to contend with. What possible harm could it do?

seeker · 09/06/2009 23:39

Just remember you might be naming an MP, a lawyer, a funeral director or a dustman.
And think again.

gerontius · 09/06/2009 23:34

NO! NO! NO!

cheesesarnie · 09/06/2009 23:32

i know a blue.always want to say 'dont be blue, everything will be fine'.but am a wimpy idiot.

Overmydeadbody · 09/06/2009 23:27

If this isn't a wind-up, can I suggest Osian? Mcuh nicer.

I met a boy the other day called Blue. His brother, I never found out his name, was sporting the most bizarre hairstyle I've ever seen on a six year old. Some bits long, some short, patches of head shaved off entirely, but with no order to it. I think he had done it himself. Then they said they where home schooled too. Interesting.

cheesesarnie · 09/06/2009 23:18

BananaFruitBat- i love that nickname!!.ooh it could be a bonus for ds2 to keep piddling every where.he could be renicknamed puddle!

cheesesarnie · 09/06/2009 23:16

i quite like it.im sure i shouldnt do.

why not go for plain old neptune though?

BananaFruitBat · 09/06/2009 23:13

Acksherly, I'm starting to quite like the idea of having a 'sensible' reason for using the nickname 'Puddle'.

Thunderduck · 09/06/2009 23:10

Let me put it gently. Good god no!

Quattrocento · 09/06/2009 23:09

Too big and overwhelming. Pond would be better, I think

MollieO · 09/06/2009 23:03

I'd start off with Paddling Pool and leave Ocean until he's a bit older - and after Olympic(swimming pool).

hullygully · 09/06/2009 22:55

What's wrong with Sandpit or Swamp?

Spidermama · 09/06/2009 22:54

I think it's lovely.

I also know a really great teenager with the name so perhaps I'm biased.

I love the sound it makes. It's a beautiful word.

BananaFruitBat · 09/06/2009 22:54

Nice for a little boy, vile for a 45yr old man.

Think ahead!

Pingpong · 09/06/2009 22:51

I prefer Ossian but I wouldn't use it.
But if you like it then use it.
Depends on your surname
Ocean Smith sounds a bit hmmmm

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 09/06/2009 21:14

Its OK.

As long as your surname is not 's Eleven,
's Twelve or 'Thirteen....

marmoset · 09/06/2009 21:08

Good grief - no! Do you not know any small boys - they are merciless once they get in a playground.

Deemented · 09/06/2009 21:04

I know an Ocean and he's gorgeous! Tis a lovely name and it suits him well.
