Help- need baby boy name for half Indian, half English baby

Now just 5 days to due date and unable to agree on decent baby boy name for a half Indian, half English baby (easier if it ends up being a girl then, eh?). Don't want one which is typically one or the other. Any help would be much appreciated- especially if anyone knows any recently born Indian baby boys, as they tend to be the ones with pronounceable names!

All good suggestions. Overmydeadbody, it would have to be a Hindu name, rather than Sikh or Muslim. We both love Rohan, but two of my very young cousins are now called Rohan. One older cousin called Akash but that wouldn't be such a problem- will suggest to DH when he gets home from work. Would really like Indian-ish first name as DH has family tradition of all male children having the family middle name, and surname would be English.

Seth?

Not typically an Indian first name, but there is Vikram Seth, Roshan Seth - well known surname. So it would be like calling a child in the UK Blake, or Harrison.

Ahh my neighbour's little boy is Akash....
however, another possibility, and what my bro and sil did, was to give their children one 'english' name and one 'indian' name. So Nephew is english indian and niece is indian english.

Second vote for Rohan - used by my Australian friend and her Indian DH when we all lived in the US (so truly multi-cultural!).

Her 20 month old DS suits it perfectly - they pronounce it Ro-Han (emphasising the h, rather than saying Rowan), but if you decided to Anglicize it, there's always that option.

Akash is my favourite Indian boy's name. I love it, know a little boy called it and a lovely bloke. I think it's very easy to pronounce for English people and it also sounds quite cool imo.

i know half indian half english men DH's age who are joshua and nathaniel.

so not at all indian then...

I have known some muslim Indians with lovely names, but they won't be any good to you if the Indian parent is of Sikh or Hindi origin would it? The in-laws would not be happy

Gilby is there any religion attached to the half-indian part? Just because India is a big place with a variety of names that vary with the religion.

Used to know a Rohan - was attached to an Indian chap though not sure if it's strictly Indian. handsome fella.

Nikhil, can be Nik for short?

Neel (Means Blue in Hindi)and is pronounced like Neil

Dhillon is nice and is acceptable in both cultures.
