Anoushka is not pretentious at all.
I also like Natasha.

What about Myla? Or maybe Carina? (Am trying to find the same feel as the ones you've said you like but maybe failing miserably!)

If you don't mind me asking, what is yor DH's name? Am 90% convinced I am carrying a boy and no boy's names really grab me, so looking for inspiration!

No, I have a good friend calld Anouska and she is english. Her DD is called Anya so she continued the Russian theme.

No, I knew a lovely Anoushka who was not at all Eastern bloc - it's no more pretentious than, say, Amelie imo.

I would vote for Ingrid as a nice Astrid substitute.

TBH they're always Lizzie and Kitty so never get their full name unless I'm being very cross and teachery.

Names are so personal so I try not to get offended when everyone gives me the 'you've got no imagination' look esp when they then hear DS's name too!

Give us some clues as to what you're looking for. Do you want a name that is not just a girls name IYKWIM. Such as Summer or Amber (from your list)
